Wise Owl Outfitters Camping Hammock - Camping Accessories Single or Double Hammock for Outdoor, Travel Hammock Indoor w/Tree Straps

This kid did a lot of reading before purchasing this hammock. Up until now I’ve been dependent on my ENO. I’ve spent long days in the Amazon rainforest with my own hammock an knew that I didn’t want anything less than perfect for my husband’s hammock from WOO. Everything about his new Wise Owl Outfitters hammock is great! We recently took both hammocks to the park and compared them side by side. Mine is the blue/gray ENO double and his is the burgundy/gray WOO double owl. There a few differences in the way the ropes knot at the end points, and a few minute differences in the way the two are stitched, but overall both hammocks are equal in length, flexibility, softness of material and performance. The WOO comes stock with chunky carribearers and a basic short rope for suspension if you want to use it right out of the bag; however, I purchased a strap set that came with lighter weight carribeaners that I have now used to replace the stock ones. I will update this post with weights for each hammock and possibly more photos if requested. Overall I would absolutely buy this brand again. The price is unbeatable, and it’s on par in quality with the best in the market. Stop thinking and just get one! :) I was not paid to write this review. I’m just an English major who believes in the product.

I bought this for a party. It was inexpensive. It went up very easy so far it has been very durable and very comfortable and it took down and put up in about two minutes

Lets get right down to the nitty gritty. Triple stitch: The base color is triple stitched to the secondary but the end fold is only single stitched. The hammock slings (suspension ends) are made from web nylon but the quality is low to average. The carabiners are heavy (weight) and are made of steel. There is potential of snagging due to the sharp edges. The tree straps (Talon lite) are also made from 1 inch web nylon but are thinner than most tree straps I have owned. OVERALL OPINION: Light use hammock intended for yard lounging. Remember: You get what you pay for. However, I purchased this hammock solely based upon the 3,769 customer reviews with a 89% 5 star rating. The only reason for the purchase, was my other (more expensive) hammock was damaged by my puppy. I do some extreme backpacking and camping and I feel that this Wise Owl product is not to the quality standards I am accustom too. Needless to say, I bought a higher quality hammock 2 days after purchasing this Wise Owl hammock. What makes it so different? Rip-stop nylon with true triple stitching all the way around, wiregate aluminum carabiners, thick seamless hammock slings and thick 10 foot tree straps (all standard packaging). There is a better product on the market by Wise Owl. Their Featherlight camping hammocks may be the better choice. This can be found from the amazon store front. There is no initial product description, you just have to goto the most expensive hammock they offer, and there you can find the product description. And last but not least, I dont want a Wise Owl representative to contact me about this review. I understand I didnt come to you first, but this is not a company issue, this is a product review.

I cannot say enough about the great customer service that I received and how much I love my Double Owl Hammock. I received my first one and started using it immediately. I noticed a tiny little rip in one of the side flaps and contacted the company on how to best repair it (i.e. patch, sew, glue, etc.). I expected an answer within a few days giving my the answer I was looking for. What I got was above and beyond anything I could have expected. I received a response within a few hours and the company offered not only a patch to fix the tiny rip on the hammock AND to send me a brand new double owl hammock. When I replied and said that it would not be necessary the company insisted and said it was their mission to strive for great customer service and ensure that myself and my family enjoy their product and have the opportunity to make lasting memories. I have attached a few pictures for reference.

Right off the bat when I opened this, I was impressed with how durable it seems and the material is soft to the touch and comfortable. I set it up in the driveway, one end tied to a tree and the other to my Jeep. It took me a couple tries to get it high enough. It’ll seem like it’s high enough, but then you get in and it droops down a little. Once I got the height right and got in, I was super impressed. It’s very comfortable and felt very sturdy. I weigh about 215 Lbs and it could definitely hold another person no problem. I got the two person hammock and it’s definitely big. With just me in it, the sides have a lot of excess space and can wrap over the top of me like a cocoon. I can’t wait to take this camping and see how it is. Great product!

Great hammock, easy to put up and take down, great quality product !

Pretty good hammock for the money. Ive used it to just chill on campus or in a park with no issues at all. I also took it camping and used it with a tarp instead of a tent. It held up through the night and held me pretty stable. I slept better than I normally do when camping. I did use two sleeping bags for insulation as it was chilly and I had enough room although it was a bit tight. Everything feels pretty high quality and seems to hold up well. My only complaint is that its a pain to put the straps into the stuff bag with the hammock so I kinda with they had made the bag a bit bigger.

Easy to install and take apart

This hammock is just perfect for me! PROS: Super strong parachute fabric: Ive put 200 lbs on it and bounced without hesitation. Rating is for 400 lbs. Strong stitching: I found quadruple stitch in needed areas. Strong attachments ropes: Two rope come off each end and are integrated into the fabric. Read, One rope can fail and Im still OK. Required Accessories are included, not extra: It comes with two carabiners and two 8 foot ropes for the trees. The colors are vibrant and beautiful: I got dark gray/red and love the combo. The red trim is a nice accent. The design is comfortable: Its a bathtub with a rim of different fabric. This allows for arm rests and leg options. The price is excellent: Less than $30 for an item I expect to use outdoors for years. CONS: None that I can see. TIP: Lying diagonally maximizes floor space in properly made banana hammocks. SUMMARY: A very strong and very comfortable hammock. I love the quality, attention to detail, included accessories and overall look and feel! ********************************************************* NOTE: I have had it in the Arizona sun for 6 months, and the color hasnt even faded one bit. Well see, but its looking pretty good. Though not recommended for permanent deployment, I expect it to continue being UV resistant. UV protection is especially important for the attachment sections and the ropes still look excellent.

Bought these to put in our horse trailer for camping trips so we can sleep in the horse trailer. They worked perfect!
