The very first bulb cracked making a loud pop within the first 5 minutes, bulb was room temperature when put into the fixture then turned on.

Only one of the two bulbs worked at all. The one that did gave only modest heat output. Returning both.

I didnt actually open the box and try these until after the return date. When I finally did plug one into a heat lamp, it got extremely hot, hotter than other ceramic heat emitters I have used. Then it started to make a weird smoky smell, so I immediately turned the lamp off, removed the heater, and never used these again. The heat lamp I used it with was rated for over 100W and has worked for other ceramic heat emitters, so it is definitely this brand that does not work.

Makes good heat. Well see how long it lasts.

These emitters seem to be working well and are priced well. Not sure how long they will last, will have to wait and see.

I have been using this ceramic heat lamp to keep the ambient temperature around 80 degrees for my snakes. This ceramic bulb is powerful enough to easily get to 108 F ambient temp for a 20 gallon fish tank (max on the thermostat controller). Some reviews have said that hooking this bulb to a thermostat controller kills it, but I disagree. I have been using this bulb connected to a controller for over 6 months now without issue. It takes some time for the bulb to heat up and cool down so when the thermostat controller turns the bulb off the heat coasts keeping the thermostat from turning off and on the bulb constantly, possibly lowering its life span. If you are looking for a cheap, yet quality product (it comes with 2 bulbs) then this product is for you.

My Bambi (bearded dragon) can sleep now. Keeps her warm without having bright lights on at night.
