These bulbs last for a long time, and they heat our lizard’s terrarium much better than anything we’ve tried.

EDIT: I want to clarify why I increased from one star to three. I sent the defective ones back to Amazon and received a new pair the next day. These new ones are extremely hot. You can see in the picture, it reached over 600F degrees. One of the lamps seemed to have a manufacturing problem and it is tilted. It is working fine but looks strange. Im not sure it is reliable. Ive added the two stars because it took a day to replace the defective ones. I didnt give more stars because one of the new ones was not manufactured, or tested before being placed into the box. I might use it with a dimmer. Honestly, without a quality control check, I still cannot recommend these. As you can see in the attached image, the temp didnt rise above 106F degrees, which is barely warmish. Reading other reviewer comments, I expected a warmer temp. I believe the two lamps I received are defective and I asked for a replacement. I will update after receiving the testing of the new set. For the set of two I received, I cannot recommend.

Update: Next day: Lowering rating from two to one. Neither heats up. I think I could put a tissue on them and they’d be just fine. So disappointed... :( Day of arrival: Hoping I can update this review. Bought two and they’ve been plugged in for over an hour and they’re not really heating anything up. Was hoping to use them on the aviary outside but no way this is warm enough. If they warm up I’ll update my review.

As many others pointed out in the reviews, and I unfortunately read too late, only one bulb in the set actually worked. It seems like such a common occurrence that I feel like the company is purposely selling their defects along with 1 working bulb. Its not a very good value when youre paying double the price for only one bulb. Avoid this brand at all cost.

I had gotten these to be back ups when one of my other bulbs burnt out. One of the bulbs was dead when it arrived. The other bulb produced heat well but stopped working after about a week and a half. Maybe I just got some defective ones. Either way, I’ll be going with a different brand.

First bulb stopped working temp fell below 90 in case. Second bulb worked, so my lizard should be ok.

The first bulb I used from the box failed within a day or two. The second one has worked for this last month, but Im concerned of the longevity of it after the initial failure. Ill be buying backup bulbs, but wont be ordering more of these.
