This adapter will allow the use of an automotive grade vacuum pump on an R410A mini split air conditioner, which is what most of the modern mini splits use. Like all Yellow Jacket products, this is a well constructed tool, works as intended, and should last a long time. Feels solid and would probably be fine for professional use. Both connections thread on for a secure connection. There is a core depressor in the 5/16 side which connects to your mini split, and a Schrader core in the 1/4 side which connects to your vacuum line or core valve tool.

This adapter was needed to complete my mini split AC installation. I had seen it it several stores for much more than Amazon. I was nervous about buying it because of the price but was pleasantly surprised to see that its identical tonthe ones that were 3x as much.

Angled fitting works well in tight spots.

I have several adapters but the Yellow Jacket has the most surface area to grip, shiny-ish, solid and nice.
