Zoo Med Laboratories SZMRH20 40-Watt Repti Therm Habitat Heater

Greater than one weekI do recommend using a thermostat with it. Some larger tortoises, like above 150lbs, may not need one. Large non hibernating tortoises need heat from below in cold temperatures.

Greater than one weekI bought this for our outdoor enclosure. I have 3 sulcatas and they love it! Im not sure how hot it gets since when I first plugged it in and tried it it didnt seem like it got too hot. But my sulcatas are always on it so im going to assume it does the job.

> 3 dayI bought this for my Sulcata’s housing and it barely gets warm to the touch. It claims to reach 119° but it’s definitely not the case. The red light stays on like it’s trying to reach temperature but it never happens.

> 3 dayAs our sulcata gets bigger and bigger by the day, trying to figure out how to keep him outdoors year round has been a task. This has been our solution! We use 2 in his house. They are low wattage, heat great, and are very sturdy. I feel safe with them, and dont have to worry about fires like I did with heat lamps.
