ZYLISS Right Scoop Gray

> 3 dayThis seems to be a new version of the old Zyliss ice cream scoop Ive always loved. The handle is a bit thinner, and the edges of the handle are less rounded, both allowing for a better grip, especially if you have smaller hands, as I do. Both scoops are covered with nonstick coating that allows you to draw it through hard ice cream more easily. I dont care which of the two I use since both versions work well. The scoop is supposedy dishwasher-safe, although my previous Zyliss scoops surfaces eventually bubbled up a bit after a couple of years. It didnt affect the usefulness, and it didnt ever flake off. Aesthetically, however, it was disappointing. If you get this otherwise excellent scoop, you may have to choose between convenience (the dishwasher) and longevity of the surface (hand-washing.) -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Greater than one weekOriginal model was thinner scoop and easily scooped ice cream fresh out of the freezer. Not so easy with this model.

> 3 dayIts an ice cream scoop. works well. Easy to take too much with one scoop, so be careful! Does its job. Very easy to clean. no levers to bind or rust. perfect for what it does.

Greater than one weekI bought one of these years ago. After using several lousy scoops at my mother-in-laws I decided she needed this scoop, too. It’s easy to scoop even hard ice cream. Ice cream should not be a workout to get to…ice cream is a treat…so it could be easy to scoop. This is the best ice cream scoop I’ve ever owned or used.

> 3 dayThe shape of the scoop and the handle are excellent. However the plating used on the scoop pits and flakes off after time. Small flakes of metal will inevitably end up in your ice cream. Worse, Zyliss knows full well about this and their answer is that coating is food safe (yes, that was their exact response to me). In addition, the pits can store bit of food and bacteria. These arent particularly expensive, and if you dont mind tossing them out and buying a new one every time they start pitting, these are a great option.
