a bit heavy and weird to clean but good to use otherwise

Got as a gift for my dad. Seems to work great.

Excellent size for scooping ice cream from large or small container. Good edge to get through hard freeze. Sturdy and comfortable handle. I envision this tool being in my kitchen for a long time.

Great! Would advise just to wash and dry by hand. Will last forever if you do that.

This was a great ice cream scoop... at first. But then it started to corrode. The silver scoop part is pitted, permanently ruined, totally unusable (unless you like specks of aluminum in your ice cream). Very disappointed.

Easily scoop hard frozen ice cream with ease.

Overall this is a well designed and useful ice cream scoop. I purchased my scoop several years ago and, as others have noted, theres a serious material problem with the bowl of the scoop. We dont eat ice cream often, and Ive always hand-washed the scoop after use in warm water and mild dishwashing soap. Ive never soaked it. Yet, the finish on both the inside and outside of the scoop is bubbling up and flaking off. Aside from the cost of having to replace the scoop, theres the environmental impact of discarding a tool like this because Zyliss has an ongoing materials or manufacturing problem. Im thinking of shipping the scoop to them...perhaps that would get their attention.
