ZYLISS Right Scoop Gray

Works well, but poor quality. After just under 2 months the finish is peeling with small chips in it. I have only hand washed it.

I gave Zyliss 3 chances - and the finish on their scoops pitted every time. Call me foolish, but I really liked the way this scoop works on hard ice cream so I tried again, and again! Im done!! I wonder how many people who gave a rave review initially, took the time to update when their scoop became pitted. This was not just a bad batch - my purchases were a year or two apart. Poor quality finish!

I have had one of these for at least 7 years. I bought this one as a gift for my parents, because I was sick of using the one they had at their house that didnt work well.

I have RA which affects my hands, wrists, elbows and more. Scooping out ice cream can be extremely difficult and even painful for me. I have tried many brands of scoops. I only use Zyllis scoops now. They have a nice handle which is easy for me to grip. I don’t feel like I’m having to bend my wrist or elbow to scoop out ice cream. This also works wonderfully when scooping very solid ice cream or sorbets. You can scoop out a round ball of ice cream rather than having to scrape it off with other scoops. It is easy to wash. I hand wash mine. I would use the top rack in the dishwasher. I had one previously, which had gradual damage to the coating on the scoop. I think it was from putting it in the silverware basket in the dishwasher. The coating kind of bubbled and began to peel off. We had that scoop for 13 yrs. I would recommend this for a gift, bridal shower, hostess gift, etc. These last many years.

This scoop is great. Ice cream comes off in a ball and doesn’t tend to stick. It’s easy to use. It is dishwasher safe but will last longer if you hand wash. It’s got a good weigh to it both in the handle and scoop so it really cuts through even hard ice cream. In short, I love using it.
