17x13.5 Wool Pressing Mat for Quilting, 100% Wool from New Zealand, Portable Felted Wool Ironing Mat with a Silicon Iron Rest Pad

I am a seamstress of quilts, childrens things, totes etc., but have been out of the loop for about 18 months with surgeries and the like. When I started back sewing and roaming Amazon as always for things this Wool Mat came up. Honestly I had not seen one before but was quite curious as my ironing quilt like pad worked but not as good as I would like. The fact that there was no need for steam was also curious to me, and so I ordered this mat based on size and price. Holy cow, I will never go back to the other manner of ironing my pieces EVER. This simplifies the process so much, easy to store on my cutting table and no steam for my iron. I cannot imagine not using it from this point on.

Used the pressing pad for the first time this week. Perfect for keeping on the table next to my sewing machine, and so much more convenient than pulling out the ironing board! No odor of any kind, though I imagine that wet wool might smell a little funky when using steam.

It doesn’t take up much room and I can easily set it aside if needed.

Im a quilter and was absolutely amazed at the difference using the wool mat made when I pressed my first block after receiving it!! I didnt even need to use any type of spray on product to achieve a perfectly flat block. Kinda wishing Id purchased the whole ironing board size, but the 13 x 17 is good for pressing individual blocks.
