A wonderful wool mat. One of my best purchases for all my sewing projects however after weeks and weeks of use it still smells like wet dog.

There is no way this is a five star reviewed product. There is no way that this product is 100% wool and the very first time my iron touched the pad it was covered in black goo which then transferred to my project. Shame on Amazon for carrying this.

It gets the job done, I do use it on the floor since I have limited craft space, but I did notice I have to place a towel underneath as the steam from the iron will go through. Not a dealbreaker, just a little wet floor. Some people did note there is a smell from the mat, I did notice it, but again not a dealbreak nor is it powerful.

I love this mat for ironing my quilt blocks. It helps everything stay nice and flat without steam. It had a funny smell at first. I think this is typical of wool. That has gone away. My sister was visiting and she used it and had to order one too. This is much less expensive than those you buy at quilt shops but works just as well.

Just right size next my sewing table. No odor was noted when I opened the package.

This mat is great. However, if youre using steam, youll need to place something below it so that you dont mess up your table (I didnt mess one up). While the mat helps to keep the heat against the fabric and is sturdy enough for most jobs, the steam (and even with no steam it will mar a surface), will go through the mat. I have a melamine work desk as well as drafting table and with heavy steam, there will be enough moisture come through to warp the melamine. So, just put a silicone mat beneath it and then all is well.

Putting my material pieces on it , doesn’t fall and could iron on may too. Very convenient
