I started using this bulb 2 days ago, and it is emitting heat. However, it only emits heat about 4in from the bulbs surface. I have it installed less than 15 inches from my snakes substrate, and it has not changed the surface temperature at all in the last 2 days. I have used 100w bulbs from different companies that kept it closer to 85-90 degrees. I wont be purchasing again and have to find a replacement asap as these bulbs are inadequate. Very disappointed as other reviewers stated it worked well at the same distance I have it installed in. :(

This did not provide any heat in my chicken coop and heat can only be felt if I put my hand about 1-2” from the bulb. Maybe it works for reptile glass cages but not for open areas. Gave it two stars instead of one because I like the thermometer that came with it.

Brand new bulb died after 2.5 weeks in my egg incubator. Almost 4 dozen chicks died, 3 days before hatch. 2 hatched and they are struggling. Absolutely terrible. Buy somewhere else.

One worked for my beardies cage but the one I had in my leopard geckos cage burnt out or stopped working within a week. I was hoping to save a little from the prices of name brand ones but you get what you pay for

Lets start off by saying this lamp is absolutely hot to the touch and when it is in your light socket. The heat on it is okay sometimes my room gets a little colder and I dont like to let my bearded dragons tank drop below 65. They say between like 65 and 70 is the perfect temperature. I think it is better for smaller cages. I think as it gets hotter though the light definitely works better.
