> 3 dayThis did not provide any heat in my chicken coop and heat can only be felt if I put my hand about 1-2” from the bulb. Maybe it works for reptile glass cages but not for open areas. Gave it two stars instead of one because I like the thermometer that came with it.

> 3 dayThese are probably nice little heat lamps for terrariums where the heat source is inches from reptiles but they were not strong enough for a chick brooder. I ended up getting a 150 watt version of this when our chicks were three weeks old and didn’t need the more intense heat of a regular 250 watt incandescent heat lamp; this is working well.
