Arrived quickly, in brand new condition! Overall it’s exactly what I needed after removing S Mode. I am obsessed over the backlit keyboard, numeric pad (numbers on the right side of keyboard), and fingerprint scanner which is the specs that sold me on this one vs purchasing a different laptop for the price.

Windows 10 S limits ability to download non-Microsoft apps. Virtual meetings don’t work. Fingerprint ID is sporadic and doesn’t always work. Small issues to some but takes more time to accomplish work tasks. Great for email and web browsing but not good for work.

Decided to purchase our 3rd Acer. This one is mine the kids love theirs. No more expensive repairs on a Mac for us.

As-Is, this Aspire Model is a bit underpowered. 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is not good for much more than accessing web productivity apps like Google Docs/Sheets. If you spend a little extra to upgrade the RAM and add a 2.5 SSD, this becomes a decent, albeit low-end, homework machine, and a reasonable value depending on the purchase price.

The battery life is crap.

The 10 year old DELL laptop my kid and wife use to do their stuff died, this seemed like best replacement that matched the old screen size.

Computer was good until the screen crapped out after only 7 months

If you need a laptop thats reliable for basic needs this is it.

I bought this laptop for simple video watching, and maybe some extremely light gaming like stardew valley. I added another stick of ram and that made the browser run smoother, I dont tend to run multiple demanding tabs so it doesnt feel much different than when Im on my desktop.
