> 3 dayI have a workstation where I run real applications, so I was very interested in using crositini/linux and ssh -X with a chromebook to have a cheap mobile laptop. The touchscreen and tablet form factor seemed worth trying out as well. Im completely satisfied on both fronts. 80+% of what I do I can do natively on the Chromebook (email, office apps, etc), and indeed the linux VM does everything I hoped it would. I really like having a touch-screen and stylus for taking notes on. The battery life is excellent but its only a month old. Even if I forget to plug it in overnight, I can usually go the second day just fine if Im careful with it. But I easily get a full days work out of it on a full charge even heavy use with the screen full-bright.

Greater than one weekThis is an excellent Chromebook and I am quite happy with my purchase. The only disappointment is that it doesnt self-store the pen/stylus as I had concluded after investigation. Being the kind of person that loses unattached things, this is unfortunate.

> 3 dayI WANTED to like these... they get wonderful reviews. I DO NOT like these... they have issues. I received 2 in a row with the same issue: when you close the lid or it goes to sleep, when it wakes back up it doesnt recognize the keyboard. Bummer - could have been good

Greater than one weekI bought my Acer Spin 13 Chromebook in 2019. I chose this Chromebook because it came with a i5 intel CPU, 8 gigs of ram and 126 gb of eMMC storage. Lastly, the big deciding factor was the ability to use a EMR stylus that works with Samsung Note device screens.

> 3 dayThis machine is snappy. The display is great. I purchased it because of Crostini which works as it should at this early stage of development. It is way ahead of the Chromebooks I recommend for my school district. The only problem I have is that the display crashes. Large gray vertical stripes appear on the screen, then it turns black. The only way to recover from this is to fold the laptop and reopen it immediately. This happened a lot while using Crostini, so I first blamed this on the fact that the project was in Beta. But now, it also happens while running Chrome or android apps. I am now starting to wonder if this is not a hardware or implementation issue. I have had to return Acer laptops in the past. Is it a one-off issue? Should I exchange the machine? Acer, please help...
