Great laptop! Runs all my games well so far. It does tend to get pretty hot though while playing. I will probably get a cooling pad.

I have been building my own PCs for gaming for a while now. This was my first try with a gaming laptop. Within 5 minutes of playing any game the surface of the laptop above the function keys would get so hot it would burn to touch it. CPU temps were in the high 90s. Constant stuttering, screen tearing, input lag and inconsistent FPS. Big problems trying to record game play with OBS which should be a simple thing to do since the GTX 10 series graphics cards are supposed to be able to record without impacting performance. I was expecting a lot more from this based on the specifications. Returned.

This is a large, sturdy, beautifully designed and heavy gaming laptop with just about all the bells and whistles you could ever ask for. Its amazing how many settings you can control just from a few keyboard strokes. Using the FuNction keys can control volume, screen brightness, and turning on/off the beautiful red LED backlit keyboard (which looks really cool in the dark). The screen is huge and bright. The battery will run down very fast if you are in high performance mode, but you can easily bump it down into battery saving mode if you are just doing web browsing. Still, Id say that the up to 7 hour battery life is a best-case scenario and 2-3 hours is more realistic. It takes a full 2 hours to completely charge the battery. I wouldnt say it is loaded with bloatware as the only thing Ive deleted so far is a Norton antivirus trial once it expired. By clicking on the PredatorSense icon, you can control the fan speed, overclocking and monitoring with what appears to me the most user friendly interface Ive ever seen. Its amazing how loud the fans are on max - its cool to show off you your friends how kick-ass this laptop really is. You *should* be able to control the backlit keyboard here too but you cant; the only way Ive found to turn off is by keyboard strokes and thats one of the few negative things that I can think to say. The internet through wifi is fast. The Dolby audio is AMAZING. Even if you never play a single game, this laptop would be worth it just for the beautiful sound if nothing else... no need for external speakers here. All parts are premium. Even the power cord feels high end and better than cheap laptops. It puts out a moderate amount of heat but nothing surprising given the specs. Gaming is a joy and it can handle just about anything - not much else to say on that front. The only other negative thing I can possibly say - and this is a bit of a reach - would be that the touchpad is so massively large that it is sometimes hard to control during mouse clicking. It is a single giant pad with no buttons at the bottom (yet it is smart enough to know the difference between left and right clicking). Thats the problem; its so large that your finger has to travel a long distance back and forth to alternate between left and right clicks, such that it sometimes gets mixed up. Still, Im getting used to it and its a minor inconvenience.
