I have never owned an actual gaming laptop or desktop before. I bought this machine for my wife for an anniversary gift and it has blown us both away! This machine will chew up and spit out any current game on high or ultra-high graphics easily. So far no issues with heat as long as it stays on a solid surface. Would absolutely recommend to someone dipping their toes into the pc gaming rig the first time. The speed is great, the graphics are impressive and smooth and the screen is absolutely brilliant. Predator also offers (if you buy the machine new) a 1-2 year warranty on the machine from the factory so that is really nice. Really nice. Really like it. Really powerful. Absolutely impressive and more so for the price point.

I have been using this laptop for a little over two weeks now and Its working just fine. I was looking for a decent laptop that can run basic games or games with low/mid quality and that Ill be able to travel with it.

I bought my Helios in October, it is great in everything, really. But before buying from outside US be cautious because its warranty isnt global, for example here in the country of Georgia (Europe) they do not support warranty. Also, from the very beginning this laptop has issue with CPU noise. For some its very strange to hear, but yes, CPU of my laptop have buzzing sound that changes simultaneously with my activity (i.e. while scrolling on web or etc.).

Really love this laptop good for traveling and quick gaming setup at friends houses. My 2 major problems with it was the high temps and constant charging while gaming. I even opened it up and reapplied thermal paste and changed the thermal pads but the CPU temps were off the roofs hitting 97°C in games that needed extra power. Overall though It was my first experience with 144hz which was amazing and still satisfied in the power it has for gaming while being as portable as it is.

Computers are supposed to idle at at 40 C and less. This one idles at 70 C. Good specs but because of terrible heat management you can easily fry that hardware to uselessness without even trying.

From day one I was disappointed in it. I bought it to play WOW, and as an upgrade from my prior laptop. Resolution is lovely however it heats up very quickly. Within 45 min of running the game you can’t touch the numbers or movement keys because it will burn your flesh. The power supply box overheated and died twice and they are lovely 50+$ to replace. 8 months I have had it and it just keeps getting worse. I did go though all the steps to correct the over heating, it’s on a cooling pad, the settings changed to blow the internal fans higher, every other possible problem I could come up with. I would highly pressure against this laptop and I’m upset I spent the money I did on it since I can only use it for an hour at a time and I have to switch to my old one anyways.

to start im a pc tech I bought this as a backup pc and I have to be honest this laptop is really nice it has midrange specs so it will play all your games well the build quality seems solid which i did not expect for the price point it feels quality the performance is great depending on how you have your power settings theres no lag no nothing just a nice smooth desktop performance the whole time and as a response to all of the negative reviews concerning the temps and throttling as long as you turn on cool boost in the acer predator program and or turn the fans on max settings while gaming and are in a cool place you wont have any issues most of these complaints i have seen are from noobs who dont realize thats part of laptop life to an extent and also are not turning the fan speed on max i would high recommend this laptop
