Do some research before buying this product.... Comes with a lot of problems I tried everything in the book to try to keep it but just got old on the bright side the screen display is great until the screen started flickering

Purchased this laptop during Prime day sale for $899. I was super excited because the hardware is pretty great for the price, although I was skeptical about purchasing an Acer over an HP or MSI due to build quality problems in the past. I read some reviews and figured if Amazon is offering it as a Prime day sale it must be a pretty good computer, Boy was I wrong. I am sick of Amazon peddling Chinese items with awful build quality and saying Amazons Choice. The left click on the touchpad is making a squeaky noise and messing up after less than 1000 clicks. The battery Life is not as advertised you might get 3.5hrs on the dimmest screen setting with battery saver on. If you are trying to game using the battery it will die within 1hr! I wish I would have spent an extra 500$ and got a laptop that was actually worth a damn. The hinge on the screen also pops and makes loud noises when opened, almost as if it isnt aligned. This has nothing to do with the drivers it is shoddy build quality and I am VERY disappointed with Amazons recommendations lately. If you are looking for a new gaming laptop KEEP LOOKING! I am PISSED after spending almost $1000 and will have to use the warranty within the first 6 months guaranteed! This is UNACCEPTABLE for both ACER and Amazon.

I got this computer to game on, switching from PS4. Firstly, if you are thinking about making the switch to pc gaming I would highly recommend you do and this pc would not be a bad place to start at all. I have been playing Apex legends, Destiny 2 and a few others with no issues at mostly maxed settings. Screen is beautiful. Powering up takes about 4 seconds from completely off till you can enter your password, if even that long. Does seem to get warm quickly but has caused no performance issues that I could notice. The mouse that they send with this product is.... well its a laser mouse and upgrading to an optical mouse for gaming was a big step up for me, you might as well not open that at all. I have a friend with the same laptop, just a few years older and he has yet to run into a game that wouldnt run on this PC. Not that it affects much but the packaging was very nice.

Absolutely agree with everything all the 5 star reviews say. This is an incredible machine, but man its not engineered to completely cool the powerful hardware its packing. The reason Im giving this a 5 star and not 4 star though is because I was able to fix the overheating problem, and man, once its fixed you are looking at an incredible value for incredible performance in a laptop. If youre not willing to under-volt the cpu (I used Hotel Heros under-volt guide) youre not going to be able to play new AAA games without severe overheating issues (93-96C). After undervolting Im running AC:Odyssey at 60fps all high settings at 82C max where before it was maxing at 96C and causing massive fps drops.

After having this computer for 6 months I have now had to send it back twice for repairs. The computer shuts off by itself constantly in the middle of using it. I researched the computer before I bought it and it had excellent reviews. But as I have been looking more into the issue there are tons of reports online with people having similar issues. Acer will not replace my computer even though it’s only 6 months old. The repairs they are doing is to reload the operating system which does absolutely nothing to fix the issue it is having. My next step is to contact Amazon to see if there is anything they can do.

I received this laptop as a graduation gift last August. It worked amazingly for what I wanted it to do for gaming. Later throughout the year, late October to early November, my computer started overheating and randomly shutting down after 20-25 minutes of gaming This persisted for a solid 2 months.

I’ve only had this laptop for 2 days and already it’s BSOD three times. I only have steam, discord, GeForce experience, and chrome downloaded.

Purchased based on impressive specs (not for gaming). However, no faster than very old laptops running single-core i7 processors. Hate the keyboard! There are two VERY TINY delete keys hidden among top row or within number keypad, but to access the latter, you must turn off number lock. If you are looking for portability, this isnt it! The power brick weighs nearly as much as the laptop, which they dont tell you in the specs. First Acer in my stable, and if this is characteristic of the brand, will be my last. Not at all impressive for something touted as a gaming machine.
