> 3 dayExcellent laptop all around, 8th gen is definitely worth the money. Extremely powerful and mobile. Currently a college student going back and forth, the laptop is very portable and supports a majority of games on high graphics including Grand Theft Auto V even with mods. The only con is the laptop has a very short battery life, personally I get about 1-1.5 hours of straight gameplay and for school work or browsing about 2.5-3.5 hours max. Also just as everyone else has included the Predator heats up fairly quick in term of Fahrenheit, during gameplay my pc sits consistently 130-155 F. Overall extremely satisfied and happy with my purchase. In my opinion the best gaming laptop in terms of portability and price by far.

Greater than one weekThis computer is a scam. The components itself are good however theres constant framedrops randomly that render gaming useless. Lets say youre playing your favorite competitive game and you get a random framedrop from 100s to 15 for 15 second. This happens constantly and randomly. Its just not worth it

Greater than one weekI built a top end gaming desktop in 2015 and the specs on this laptop are better than it which is saying something for a laptop. Its got me even thinking about upgrades to my desktop like a newer video card and monitor. I really like the 144 MHz screen. I did upgrade the NVMe SSD card though to a terabyte because the 256 GB is way too small and I reloaded Windows Home 64 on it. I also added an old 500 GB 2.5 SSD I had in the open bay. As others have said it does get a little warm during game play but Acer does offer a program to control the fan speed. Probably the only thing I do not like about it is that Acer has locked the bios firmware. By that I mean they have limited the setting within it that can be viewed and changed. Ive read that someone has hacked the firmware to gain access to the hidden settings but I am not comfortable with using hacked bios firmware. Acer needs to offer an unlocked bios for power users. Especially on gaming PCs. I am used to building my own PCs and having unlocked bios firmware on the motherboards.

> 3 dayI bought this in July of 2018 for about $650.00 new on sale. Laptop has been GREAT! I upgraded the memory 32gb and new SSD right after I purchased it, and recently upgraded to a new 2tb and 4tb ssd. Stripped it down internally and replaced all thernal pads and re-pasted the cpu and gpu. Fans all still work but I did clean them too. The laptop has always run a bit hot under the wasd keys, but I have always used a laptop fan/stand and I built a usb powered cooling fan to sit on top/over the wasd key area to cooling. Ive never had a problem with thermal throttling when gaming. I replaced Windows OS many years ago..... best improvement I could have ever down for any computer. Currently rocking linux POPOS and Kali on dual boot. This laptop has been an excellent investment and more defiantly got moneys worth out of it. I have several newer and faster laptops, but this one goes everywhere with me.

> 3 day(Update: been three weeks since I got this laptop and Im still having no issues. Predator sense sometimes bugs or, but thats a software issue and I found out how to fix it whenever it does. I also found a solution to the battery problem. There are portable laptop chargers that are about $100 that can keep the laptop charged and running for and extra 6-8 hours depending on the chargers MaH.)
