Worked flawlessly for 2 years then the Intel Integrated Graphics 630 GPU died. Have to run global settings on the Nvidia card which will significantly reduce the life span of my graphics card. Sad end to what was a great machine. 2 years is too short of a lifespan for a laptop thats $1,000.

Laptop seems to work good for my 3d processing and editing but I am disappointed to see a dead pixel on my brand new laptop, im sure I could have sent it back but it would be such a hassle to reload all my software so i will keep it but not totally satisfied with the screen quality.

Lighted screen is red color only. Computer only used for watching videos, E-mail and movies. Computer completely died after 13 months but I fortunately paid a lot of extra money for the 4 year extended warranty. After a lot of B.S. from the warranty company, my son (who they couldnt fool) got them to accept the computer back for service. Bottom line it was a hardware not software problem. They totaled my unit and refunded the purchase price minus the $189.00 warranty cost and tax.

The laptop meets the performance expectations however it tends to spike up to 95-100 Celsius. This is primarily occurs in actual gameplay and not benchmarking or stress testing software. This occurs with fans set to max output using Predator Sense and using Coolboost enabled. Attempted to use Intel XTU to undervolt the CPU however this has minimal effect and the CPU will still hit above 90 and throttling is still experienced. Suspect this is primarily due to bad thermal pasting job, which I refused to do as it would immediately void both the Amazon and Acer warranty. Its a shame since Acer put a lot of work into adding additional cooling features only to have it negated by poor build/assembly. I will most likely return this and pay a little extra for another laptop with better build quality.

I’ve never written a review before, but this was THAT bad.

I am very happy, With my predator computer. It exceeds all of my expectations completely... If I upgrade I will definitely stick with another predator.

What attracted me to this laptop was the processing power and speed. I need a new laptop for work and this one checked off everything on my wish list (with the added HDD). I read all the reviews and heeded the warning about overheating so I got a matching laptop fan and this laptop is so fast, the resolution is awesome, the back lit keys (only come on when plugged in) look so cool. We are still getting to know each other but I have the highest hopes for the Predator. Admittedly it has been a while since I bought a new laptop I am a little starry eyed. I installed the HDD with help of a YouTube video - NOTE: inside the box with your power cord is a tiny bag of 4 screws this is for the HDD installation. I highly recommend.

I am writing this from Day One of recieving this laptop. Once, unboxed and create a user, I proceed to use the Microsoft Edge web browser. Immediately, I got hit with error_connection_timed_out on msn.com. I then try the gamer paradise, Steam website, same result. Reddit, same thing. Amazon, where I bought this thing, same thing. Even when advised by tech support to go to the brands website, Acer, it timed out the same way. Tried updating the drivers, says that they are the latest. Tried downloading new drivers from acer website using my ethernet cable, same thing afterwards. Tried flushing the dns and reconfig ip, worked for a couple of hours, then same thing. TL:TR Gaming laptop, nearly a grand does not even have properly working wifi drivers. I do not even have a chance to view major websites much less play games. I am going to get a refund, what a waste of time.

The laptop seems solidly made, and was able to survive a round trip being kicked around under a seat on a plane in a cross country trip. Graphics and video quality are great. I havent done much in the way of hardcore gaming on this, but so far, it doesnt disappoint.

I love this computer it’s a beast. I used to think that gaming laptops were a wast of money and now I am to the point to where my main computer will always be a Predator the only negative I can take out of this is the battery life but this can be expected
