AcuRite Wireless Indoor Outdoor Temperature and Humidity Sensor (06002M) , white

Worked perfectly with my weather station. So pleased

Needed a replacement for my weather station. This worked as it should.

Purchased 4 units to monitor humidity in crawlspace and attic. 2 of the units are off by -6% in humidity 1 unit is off by -4% humidity 1 unit is off by -8% humidity I calibrated these using the salt/water 24 hour method and a total of 6 units. One of the units was a more expensive (50$ sensor) from another brand that swears by their accuracy and sure enough that was the one unit that got exactly 75% humidity after 24 hours. These...not so much. These are probably mass-produced and not given a second thought on calibration. Thankfully for my use case (home assistant) I can set an offset.

The original AcuRite weather station sensor stopped working and a whole new weather station was almost $100. Figured I had nothing to lose trying this replacement. Put in batteries (not included), let it sit next to the base station for 30 minutes and all was synched. Works like a charm! Very happy.

This product was a replacement for one that stopped working. We had it for a few years and needed a new one. This one is working great.

The unit works fine, but be aware that the directions that came with the master unit are very weak on how to set it up. I added this to the 5-in1 Acurite weather station with Lightning Detector. According to the directions that came with the main unit, you can set up the readout to cycle through all of your remote outdoor probes (in addition to the main outdoor temp readout). Lets say you have three additional outdoor probes (like, I have one in my greenhouse, and one in the chicken coop). And by the way, the Lightning Detector also will send a temperature reading, so that counts as an additional remote temp reading if desired. So anyway, you can set your main unit up to cycle so that it reads the remotes one after another. It will show A, B, and Cs temp, one after the other. Great, but no way will you get this using the instructions with the main unit! Even the tech at Acurite said he had noticed that issue with his at home. I forget all the details, but if I have to do it again, Ill take notes and update here. Its a lot of pushing Options and Select, but not quite the way the directions say. The good news is their tech service is very good on the phone. (Sorry I cant post the details of how to do it, but I dont dare messing with it now that its working ok!)

I have a station in each end of my house. This sending unit works for both. It is accurate and reliable.

After I contacted acurite to verify that this 06009RMA1 Replacement Temperature Sensor was the correct one. I decided to purchase the used one and saved a few dollars. Why not? as the warranty and return policy are the same. It started sending as soon as I put the batteries in it. hopefully it will continue for a few years like the last one. Although the original was kept completely out of the rain and sun. I noticed considerable corrosion on the battery terminal (one). The circuits on the inside of the unit appeared to be fine....perfect actually. I cant say if the battery terminal was the reason for the failure but that is what I believe. It looked to be of stainless steel construction yet it had severe corrosion.
