My weather station stopped reporting outside temps. A new sensor was needed and this one did the trick. Be sure to double check the proper match to your station as I almost bought the wrong one.

I would think anyone using these devices would understand that accuracy is not going to be perfect. Yes the basic units will read different sometimes right next to each other. So many variables. Simply a tad of shade or for example a piece of rebar under a concrete slab under one sensor but not the other can make a difference. For me the place I work lost a lot of food when a circuit breaker tripped on our ice cream freezers, I now have a 7 sensor system to cover coolers and freezers. Do I really care if the temp is off one or two degrees, not really. I only care to know that the temperature is rising. One alert set for 18F and another at 26F. The 18F is early warning and the 28F says get your but over and see what is happening. Bottom line for personal use do you really need to know if the outside temp is 95 vs 97? If you have a mission critical use for these devices you should probably be spending close to or over $1000 for a system if your business needs to be that precise. Even mechanical wire thermometers side by side can read different. This even includes Taylor food thermometers. For perfect accuracy get something that works with mercury.

I was very happy that we could replace the outside portion of our thermometer which had rusted without buying a new inside unit. It works like new again.

Outside temp on my Indoor / Outdoor Thermometer was wonky. Worked sort of and often looked like the batteries were dying though they were new. So just planned to buy a new I/O Thermometer. Didnt find any I liked as much as the one I have. Then I found this sensor replacement. Outside temp & humidity are back with no issues. Hopefully good for another 5 years or so, and at about 1/4 the cost.

I was able to pair this remote station with my inside station without any problem. The entire system works well. Over time the outdoor station will wear out and is easily replaced.

I first bought the set of indoor & outdoor units about 7 years ago. The outdoor unit finally corroded enough that it wasnt usable. This replacement worked for me as soon as I put batteries in it. Glad to have the outside info available to me again.

We bought the AcuRite 02027A1 as an adjunct to a LaCross Weather Channel weather station. In north central Kentucky, readily available, good weather info. can be a valuable asset. The AcuRite station is 6 years old and we are on the third sensor since original purchase. The base unit has been great, but the sensors after 1 1/2-2 years fail and will not sync up with the base. We have our sensors in a protected location under the barn leanto. The LaCross, WC w/ Oscar, is about 11 to 12 years old and we are on the third sensor. this makes the LaCross a much more reliable station, but can no longer buy a replacement sensor. Be advised-read many reviews before buying any weather station! Sensors can be expensive.

After I contacted acurite to verify that this 06009RMA1 Replacement Temperature Sensor was the correct one. I decided to purchase the used one and saved a few dollars. Why not? as the warranty and return policy are the same. It started sending as soon as I put the batteries in it. hopefully it will continue for a few years like the last one. Although the original was kept completely out of the rain and sun. I noticed considerable corrosion on the battery terminal (one). The circuits on the inside of the unit appeared to be fine....perfect actually. I cant say if the battery terminal was the reason for the failure but that is what I believe. It looked to be of stainless steel construction yet it had severe corrosion.

The Temperature and Humidity Sensor can be paired with a variety of compatible indoor digital weather stations (sold separately) to view current conditions at-a-glance, or it can be used with the AcuRite Access (sold separately), allowing you to monitor your sensor information from anywhere in the world using your smartphone, computer or tablet. The integrated hole allows you to easily mount your sensor outside or with a nail, which you can easily hang your sensor anywhere..
