> 3 dayWe bought the AcuRite 02027A1 as an adjunct to a LaCross Weather Channel weather station. In north central Kentucky, readily available, good weather info. can be a valuable asset. The AcuRite station is 6 years old and we are on the third sensor since original purchase. The base unit has been great, but the sensors after 1 1/2-2 years fail and will not sync up with the base. We have our sensors in a protected location under the barn leanto. The LaCross, WC w/ Oscar, is about 11 to 12 years old and we are on the third sensor. this makes the LaCross a much more reliable station, but can no longer buy a replacement sensor. Be advised-read many reviews before buying any weather station! Sensors can be expensive.

> 3 dayI just ordered my second one of these things... The original and the first replacement each lasted about four years before giving up the ghost...... At $35 the four year lifespan is pretty disappointing... Other than that the item works fine... Edit: In defense of AcuRite, they do mention in the directions that its best to protect the sensor from direct contact with the elements when placing it outdoors... I placed the new sensor under my front steps to give it some protection... Hopefully this will extend the life of the unit...

> 3 dayWorks perfectly but should have priced a new one first. Part cost almost as much as whole unit.

> 3 dayThe last one lasted a couple of years mounted under the eves of our beach house. Perhaps it was the salt air (standard reason for anything failing on the coast). Hope this lasts longer. Maybe I should buy a couple more. Update July 3 2022: The replacement lasted 7 months (installed Dec 20 2021). Probably try one more replacement. Will put outside only when I want to use it. See if that helps.

> 3 dayThis is an exact replacement for a 17 year old transmitter for an indoor-outdoor thermometer (and other stuff on the inside part...). As such, it worked immediately, albeit not a simple plug-and-play (put in batteries and rehang). On the other hand, it was extremely simple to do the reset of removing the battery from the receiver, and then reset the date, month and time, along with the time zone. It instantly talked to the receiver, and I was finished. It was less expensive at Amazon, and was shipped free under Prime, arriving quickly, so Im very well pleased overall.
