It was better than expected. I use it for gaming.

I’ve only had this for a full week so may be a bit early for a review but so far so good. Very smooth, extremely quiet (I’m reviewing the liquid cooled) and has handled everything I’ve thrown at it without breaking a sweat. And she’s not bad to look at… my girlfriend was not too happy about having this in the living room but when she saw it and got to create a theme for the colors of the lights it’s now her favorite thing. Any suggestions on getting her to stop playing on it and go back to her laptop would be helpful though

    Greater than one week

Easy to setup and use. Only thing from DELL that actually works as promised. (They acquired alienware and didnt design it inhouse).

This is my second Alienware product; my previous was a gaming laptop back in 2010ish. That laptop performed well but has some glaring flaws, such as the video cutting out from a bad hinge. I was hoping maybe Alienware had gotten better over a decade, but unfortunately its the same story all over again, and I am returning it. In general, this PC is good and runs well. While I really dislike branding, I will say the case design is rad. I love the toolless design, tho you do need a screw driver to open the case so thats a bit of a fib, but the interior is clean and easy to access. I didnt really stress test this much. I did play a heavy Skyrim VR modpack, and it performed like hot garbage, but that modpack is notoriously poorly optimized, so I dont know if I can blame the PC for that. That being said, even while playing relatively simple games like WoW or just watching YouTube, I got multiple BSODs, which is just bizarre. However the real reason Im returning it is because the wired network adapter is faulty. Online gaming while streaming will lead to constant disconnects which can only be fixed by resetting the adapter, and sometimes just gaming or YouTube by itself will crash the adapter. I spent multiple weeks trying to fix it, troubleshooting with my roommate, who is not having this problem, tried to contact Dell who refused to help, etc. I finally hit my breaking point when it happened during a progression night, and I had to miss half the gaming session, which probably set us back a week. This PC is overpriced. I was okay with that because I have little free time or patience, I just wanted something that worked, and was willing to pay for it. But somehow even something as simple as a wired connection was too much to ask of Alienware. Im very frustrated that I wasted weeks on trying to get this overpriced brick to do what my 7 year old Studio XPS did flawlessly. Thats twice Ive been burned, I will never purchase an Alienware again. 1 star overall, 2 star for the neat case design.

Love this computer. i have the Ryzen 9 with RTX 3080. Liquid cooled. Runs smooth and fast. The outer box was a little beat up from being shipped all over but the tower was well protected. One of the fans came loose and disconnected and bounced around inside the case. I was worried it may have damaged something but after plugging it in an setting it up everything seems to be ok. Another fan came loose but not all the way. Check your components before plugging in to make sure everything is connected and seated.

Not enough ram. It only has 16 gigs of ram. Not enough storage. It only has 512 Gts SSD. The only 1TB device is a spinner. The networking adaptor is garbage. It slows down, and drops connection, nearly three times a day. Frustrating when youre trying to use Flight Simulator 2020s photogrametry scenery, and next thing you know, it switches you to offline mode, and you lose all your weather data, and the scenery goes to crummy looking auto-gen that looks nothing like what you were flying over. Sick of it. I now have to look for a network adapter. The graphics card, which I got this machine for, is an Nvidia RTX 3070, which is pretty good. Only wish I ACTUALLY had access to all the ram. Dell have slouched, and slipped back to shared ram, which really holds you back. Youre better off building your own machine, IF you can find the parts.

Im not a Computer geek. It took a long time to finally decided on which direction I wanted to go, but after talking to friends and family, I decided to get a new PC for home use and Gaming. I had a team of helpers trying to build me a custom unit and shop for the latest and greatest. It was getting frustrating, but to make this long story short, This Alienware Aurora R14 Gaming Desktop was the best bang for the buck. We tried building the same unit and could not get close to the price it was selling for on Amazon, average savings was $500+ and it is already assembled, no waiting for parts to come in. So to sum it up. PRO Great performance and speed Already assembled Cheaper then building your own for now HUGE DIFFERANCE COMPAIRED TO XBOX ONE : ) CON Keyboard and Mouse included are cheap. Invest in Alienware keyboard and mouse. Also Invested in 240 hertz monitor. but I can see you lol Fan cooling system is very effective, but noticeable when she kicks into high gear, seems to attract a lot of Dust.. Wish the was an air filter. Makes me feel dirty, but to be fair I was told Im overreacting. lol So for now I give it 2 thumbs up..

*UPDATE* Dell customer support just told me this computer was already over 200 days old when I bought it nov 12. I wake up every single morning to this PC blue screened. The only things ive installed on it is discord, chrome and world of warcraft. Ive done all the windows updates. Ive updated drivers. Bios wont update. Tried to contact dell but it would hang up on me everytime I put in my PC number. Finally called and just said operator twice to talk to a human. A nice lady in India read me a script of trouble shooting tips that I could have googled so I hung up. Oh and the liquid cooling system has a tick tick, pause, tick tick, pause, tick tick, pause sound coming from it.. Dont buy alienware no matter what kind of deal you can get on it.

Never had a NEW PC that takes 3 min to start from time to time, and occasionally runs into a blue screen when its idle and needs to restart.
