The good: 12nm refresh of the R5 1600. A little confusing at first, as I hadnt heard about any such thing, only on researching the part number (YD1600BBAFBOX... note the F in the 4th to last character rather than E), did I eventually find information about this (along with another reviewers posting here)

I was a first time PC builder, this was babys first CPU and it has been working marvelously for cheap for a very budget build.

Use in a new build (Linux mint 19.3) - an upgrade from a 1055T. Its FAST. Id have bought it last year when it was still below $100.

If youre looking for the absolute best CHEAP cpu for gaming, this is it. Pair it w at least 16 gig ram, though 32 is better, and an nvme m.2 drive. Buy yourself a sub $50 heatsink and fan. Remember to make sure and get the AF model and remember youll need a gpu. No integrated graphics w this chip.

Works great! 6 cores for $85?! For the average user this cpu is way more than enough to satisfy your computing needs. You must have a dedicated graphics/video card to connect to your monitor.

This is a steal. I got it when it was 85$ and I cant believe how much value this CPU offers. I upgraded from a R5 1500x, and while its not a substantial upgrade, I do appreciate the extra 2 cores and 4 threads. The cooler included is trash though (even worse than the one that comes with R5 1500x). Its loud and it doesnt cool anything. I was able to squeeze a 3.7Ghz overclock on all cores, with temps anywhere between 65C and 75C during a long gaming session. Just ordered a beefier aircooler that is supposedly much better. Hopefully I could squeeze even more (3.9Ghz or even 4Ghz). Overall, very satisfied and I deducted 1 star for the bad cooler.

I have been very pleased with this cpu and it can be a great value, but be aware that it does require a gpu (graphics card). It offers six cores instead of four, and I have been very impressed with the speed.
