AMD Ryzen 5 1600 65W AM4 Processor with Wraith Stealth Cooler (YD1600BBAFBOX)

Works great. Used it with the gaming computer my son and I built for Christmas. I was devastated to find that it is not supported by Windows 11. I guess well have to upgrade in another 4 years.

For this price it kills off the used intel market its only slightly slower than a 2600 if you get the AF model

Great CPU, I use it at work. Although they lost my first one that I ordered for $85 so I had to pay that $110 premium which wasn’t fair. But other than that it functions as a 2xxx series chip, if not a bit better.

Great processor for the money

Exceptional value for the performance you’re getting. Practically the same as a Ryzen 5 2600, and can even be OC’d to outpace it.

Used this in my Gaming rig as a cheap get it posted option till I can afford to upgrade and I almost dont want to. works very well for basic gaming, recording, and streaming.

The best budget CPU, and I dont think anybody will ever top this. I got this for about 115$ and it is worth every penny. Wont have to upgrade for years.

At the time of this review (5/19/2020), This CPU is at roughly $150.00, due to some scalpers doing huge markups. i got mine at $85.00, A value then, unfortunately not right now. If the price drops back to $85.00, get it. If not, better off getting the 3600, at $172.00. I wish i could give an honest better review of the current, but i cant

the AMD Ryzen 5 1600 AF is indeed one of those rare gems we encounter periodically. Its as close to a Ryzen 5 2600 as it can be but clearly much faster than the 1600 AE. It even outperforms the faster 1600X. Bought this for a friend and I know hell be excited as hes getting a better processor than he could afford. Ive been able to run it with both Windows 7 Pro and Windows 8.1 Pro so despite it being near Ryzen 2000 its still a 1000 series to the drivers. Have not had any issues getting all the Security patches either. Its a winner.

My boost clocks actually go up to 3.8 with stock fan! If the motherboard provides enough juice this CPU will do the rest. Also get DDR4 3200mhz as this will greatly help performance of the chip.
