19-11-2024Pretty good for your money. it’s a solid half way point and for most gamers you shouldn’t need any more power. i run GTA 5 at 4k (i have RTX 2060 super) and it handles fine. it runs multi core games well and still runs single core OK (like CSGO) I have an issue where my games crash a lot and i doubt its the CPU (i think it’s windows, i bought a sketchy key) but it crashes. i don’t blame AMD because i actually bought a new one and sent the old back and it was fine so i’m happy.

> 3 dayOverclocked pretty good. Stable. Think Ive had 1 crash since I bought it and that was my fault for pushing the clock too far. Very solid cpu even with out overclocking. Phenomenal for the price.

> 3 dayWhen AMD released Ryzen last year, it was a huge disruption to Intels grasp on the hardware market as they brought 6 and 8 core processors to the mainstream consumer for the first time. With their second generation (not to be confused with the upcoming sub 10nm Ryzen 2) AMD managed to improve the only thing lagging them behind Intel: individual core performance. With a base clock of 3.6GHz and boost clock of 4.2GHz (not to mention each chip comes unlocked for overclocking potential), AMD and Intel are finally neck and neck for the first time since Bulldozer. So discussing processors themselves is, in itself, somewhat futile. In my opinion, you, the consumer, should stick with AMD for their much more consumer friendly practices. More specifically, AMD has committed to supporting the AM4 socket through 2021 meaning that a gen1 Ryzen board will support processors that come out through the next few generations as opposed to having to upgrade motherboards even if the difference in generations is minute at best (Looking at you, coffee lake). Thank you, AMD.

> 3 dayworks like an upper i5 processor since this is only the second generation of the ryzen series and the Intel ones are well in the 8th but this is just as good and better for the money but for the same amount that you would pay for Intel I-5 you can easily get Rizens 3rd generation or 3600x processor and that one seems to be better than Intel in all aspects. The only thing that makes this one a little behind Intels latest processor is that its 95w TDP and those are usually 65 Watts but the good news is that amds next generation is 65 Watts which is not only a boost 4 performance but also for Energy Efficiency!

> 3 dayUpgraded from a 1600 to this 2600x after finding a great deal on sale. I cant say its a massive improvement but noticeable. Overclocks well @ 4ghz so far on water cooling. At this point Im not sure if I can fully recommend this generation of Ryzen with the latest around the corner. As the price keeps dropping though itll be hard to beat.

> 3 dayHigh core count, high speed with auto overclock and a cooler that keeps it cool included?? YES! Won the silicon lottery. 4.25GHZ constantly without any voltage tweaking. Good luck!

20-11-2024I use my tower primarily for gaming and working on manuscripts. The latter never taxing even the weakest setup. But playing Div2, GW2, Elite Dangerous, and Metro Exodus with the new chip, board, 32g of ram, and 2060 card were night and day different from the old setup I had maxed out. I ran this exact setup with a Ryzen 1800 and found it quite difficult to tell any performance differences between the two chips running on ultra. I did err on the side of caution and got the better heat sink. The install is insanely easy.
