AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor

I upgraded from an i7-4790k, which is a massive upgrade, this AM4 chip is perfect for the 30-series GPUs and runs anything you throw at it.

Huge jump from my old apu :) great cpu so far just waiting to combo it with a gpu never seen it runnover 60c and that was one time most of the times the highest temp is about 53c 54c this is withe the auto oc at 4.95hz keep in mind no gpu in this setup with 2 360 rads at 40mm and the chipset is part of the line

I sold my Ryzen 7 3700x to a friend and replaced it with the 5800x and it was such a good move. I am getting better/more stable frame rates in games at 1440p (max settings) paired with a RTX 2070 Super. For example, in the Outriders Demo, when heading down the shop area, my frames would drop from 90 to 50, which is staggering and looks bad. Now with the 5800x, the lowest it drops in that area is 75 FPS. A massive upgrade from the 50 FPS. I also tested with several other games and saw large FPS increases. As for temps, paired with my Dark Rock Pro 4 (air cooler), my temps have never gotten out of the 60s while gaming, not even for long periods of time, and idles at about 30. I have seen some people say its way to hot, but just apply the small amount of thermal paste and ensure you mount the cooler correctly and you will be good. If not, well then maybe your CPU cooler is bad? Either way, I am loving this CPU thus far and cant wait to pair it with my RTX 3090 in the next 2 weeks. I know tech tubers do not recommend this due to price per core, but if you aint got the money for a Ryzen 9 5900x and you need more than 6 cores offered from the Ryzen 5 5600x, then there is no shame in buying this.

My first question is to ask why Amazon wants me to rate the warmth and thickness of a CPU??? I will not sleep soundly tonight knowing those ratings exist for a CPU. Aside from that, this CPU is a monster!

Best series of gaming / workstation CPUs by a long mile. Ryzen 5000 series has legit put intel to shame here. Delivery was on time, and absolutely thrilled to get one through Amazon amidst this shortage season.
