AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor

I had been holding out for the 12 core 5900X for a long time. But when Amazon opened this 5800X for preorder I went ahead and ordered. As usual, Amazon delivered early, about a month earlier than the original projected ship date.

Good for gaming and everything, but my EVGA motherboard manually overclocked it, and now I get 52C when I start the PC. I think I need to get Portable AC to cool this thing.

Finally decided to upgrade my CPU after 5 years and definitely can tell a difference with this bad boy. As others have mentioned, it runs hot. Had to pick up a watercooler as I was idling at 60-70C. But now we are running smooth. Hopefully this can last me another 5 years...

The CPU has an amazing architecture, can multitask without a problem, everything is snappy, and is more than enough for current games and future games. However, I feel really uncomfortable with the temps, even though it’s rated for up to 95C, I easily reach 90C before losing score on Cinebench R20 if left on stock settings, but still reach those temps on normal cases too, like loading a game, and that’s with an 360mm AIO, so reaching those numbers quite easily with such cooler is quite perplexing, I had to lower the voltage with PBO with a guide to even begin to be around ~83C, even had to lower fan speed because they quickly went into the 80-90 degree speed. From what I researched, only the 5800X has this problem, so I would rather go with the 5600X or the 5900X than this, only bought this because it was in stock when I could purchase a CPU on the limited window of time I had. I was going to rate this a 4/5, but after thinking of the headache it gave me before just giving up and accepting those numbers, I decided on a 3/5.

Paird up nicely with my ASUS TUF gaming X570-PRO WiFi II mainboard. No flashback required, surprisingly. Guess I got lucky and the board came with the newer BIOS.

Very smooth , idles ~60celsius, gaming stays around 79-82celsius

Purchased it for a friend overseas. We tested it on 3 different Motherboards and 5A error (which is internal CPU error) keeps showing up.

Great for gaming and for rendering.... would recommend a good cooler as it does run a little warm.
