AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-core, 24-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor

Works perfect hand no issues and when water cooled it stays at 40 Celsius

I went to MC (Micro Center) Marietta, GA yesterday (Jan 6, 2021) b/c I happened to be in the area. I have a 5900x on backorder with B&H since 11/5/2020 at 4:01am. I thought Id see if MC had any 5900xs in stock. Their CPU case was sold out of Zen 3 CPUs so I asked a MC employee to see if they had any in the back. He came back with one!

Went from a 2700x to 5900x.

Its an excellent CPU. However, it sold out limited stock within less than 1 second of going live. Not joking here. This is just exactly like the new video card fiasco nvidia went through. Bots, youtube reviewers, and a few lucky folks got these. You will likely not see these in retail (aside from pre-builds) until 2nd quarter 2021. Good luck!

Came fast and not a dent on box

Bin eigentlich recht zufrieden

my workload (audio production) was overwhelming the ryzen 2600 I had previously. Now, the 5900x easily handles the same projects that used to fail and crash. Really a life saver. I will say, it took me several frustrating hours to realise that the BIOS must be updated (using the old CPU) if youre using an older motherboard. Also, the 5900x runs hotter, occasionally surpassing 90 degrees celsius with my AMD wraith stealth cooler, therefore I bought an aftermarket cooler (scythe fuma 2). Im very happy about this CPU.

Good fast and to the net we go, as it is fast when i got it but you know what they say. Buy today and its old tomarrow.

Upgraded from a Ryzen 7 3700x to this Ryzen 9 5900x. Significant improvement (as you would expect). The 5900x is much faster in all tasks and runs cooler than the 3700x. Another great thing is that, if you do not want to upgrade to AM5 (yet), it is a drop in replacement as long as you update your BIOS to the latest version. Recommended if you want to get some more life out of your AM4 socket. Not the latest greatest but still a very, very capable CPU

I am so frustrated over the incredibly low stock this CPU has! This terrible amazon website also has no protection against bots which is making everything worse!!!!
