Greater than one weekI originally bought the 5800x and that was more than good enough for anything Ill do on the PC. But I figured for an extra $120 Ill future-proof it even more, so I got the 5900x and put it in my MSI Meg Ace x570 board (no BIOS update was necessary out of the box since the Ace supports 5000 series, but I updated anyway.) I can actually tell the difference; 5800x was amazing, but 5900x is out of this world. You could probably open up 3000+ browser tabs before you might see the slightest slowdown. Theres nothing I can throw at it that it cant handle with ease. Im using the Samsung 980 Pro M.2 and getting 6700mb read speeds with PCIE 4.0. PBO is enabled in the BIOS on the 5900x and its also OCed a bit via Ryzen Master. No need to really OC at all actually, with the incredible speed of this cpu (unless youre a hardcore gamer.) My ram is Trident Neo DDR4 3800 CL14, which I recommend as the best ram to go with for this cpu if you have a board that can handle the 1.5V it takes. Just set the xmp profile in the BIOS and youre good to go at out-of-the-box 3800/CL14 with no manual OCing.

Greater than one weekTwelve. Twelve, 7nm, physical processing cores, natively boosting to 4.9ghz. Mmmm. And then I over-clock it,... mmm. Under just a dual tower air cooler, I over clock her?! Mmmm. 5.1ghz. Mmm. Smooth as butter for months, MMMmmm-mmmm!!! Spontaneous crash doing basically nothing... :(. Another.... another... Maybe dont always overclock... Back to stock, still boosting to 4.9ghz, (on the exceptionally rare occasion something actually warrants 4.9ghz out of 12 7nm double threaded cores) To be fair, Ryzen Master really couldnt be much more clear about the likelyhood of exactly this sort of thing happening, should you opt to run their totally not stock, just not necessarily the most extreme over-clocking software. And its back to being smoother than a lightsaber through melted butter at anything I can throw at it. Mmm. This cpu is a monster.

Greater than one weekComing from a 2700x, youll definitely notice improvement in productivity workloads, and 1% lows in gaming will climb significantly. The only knock I have on the 5900x is that on a X470-F with the latest bios updates applied, the processor will not boost a single core past 3.8ghz... even with PBO enabled and thermals looking great. Beside this one minor complaint, this processor shines in daily tasks and gaming, and should be competent for years to come. Heres hoping I can figure out the boost issue...
