> 3 dayI have never played an Animal Crossing game. When the trailers started coming out a month ago or so, I showed my kids and they were excited for it. Even though we are still early on, it has been great. It provides a simpler style to Minecraft, and is very cutesy/cartoony. Very charming, even my wife (who doesnt like video games) sat and watched as the three of us played. It is a great way for my kids to read while also playing a game they like. The single island per console limitation is an issue for most people, and I understand. My kids actually enjoy sharing the same island. Still, its a pretty lame limitation that is one made by design.

03-06-2025Pre-ordered this game and it arrived the same day of the release day and it’s been 4 months since I’ve had animal crossing new horizons and I love it. I recommend this game because it’s so relaxing so therapeutic and adorable, you get to use your imagination and be as creative as you want with your island. This game doesn’t make you feel stressed you go at your own pace and the updates have been making the game even better and there’s still even more updates to come. This is a perfect gift for Nintendo fans and for the old animal crossing fans who have been here since the beginning of this franchise. If you plan on buying this game as a birthday gift or Christmas gift go for it, I’m sure your kids, friends, or anyone from your family that’s a Nintendo fan will be so happy.

> 3 dayThe number of times you press the A button to perform basic tasks is so high that my wifes thumb has been hurting lately. The excessive length of cutscenes to join a friends island, or to watch a friend join your island, discourages group play or play with strangers, and the whole game feels poorly designed. There are regular patches reacting to the top 1% of players exploiting bank interest rates, certain high value commodities, and other mechanics. Nintendo is doing copyright strikes against Youtube videos and reporters discussing these issues. There are fan-made videos showcasing quality of life features that.. its frankly sad none of them existed from the beginning (and likely wont).

> 3 dayThis is not the kind of game you play for hours at a time. Just a little bit here and a little bit there. Kinda takes a few days to do much in it because this game is played in real time. But it’s a great game. Highly recommend.

Greater than one weekIve been playing every Animal Crossing since the DS version, and this game is considerably ranked above the others in terms of visuals, customization and freedom. I have about 200 hours logged in and loved every second of it. There are of course, as others have mentioned, some quality of life/tedious issues but those dont really bother me as much as the lack of store fronts does, as well as less furniture options as other games. Im hoping that later this year some more updates/dlcs will fix this. Considering the amount of time I played with this game versus its cost point, I would say its absolutely worth it! It really is a perfect game for our unique situation globally with the pandemic going on.

> 3 dayI played the OG Gamecube version many moons ago when I was small and little, and as a 30ish year old woman I absolutely adore this game. My 8yr loves the game as well and let me tell you going through the museum and showing her all the fossils, bugs, paintings, and fish is fun. The first time I fished up an Oarfish my daughter was watching me play and when my character held that thing up her reaction was priceless. 10/10.
