I was waiting for a pre-owned animal crossing game including cartridge and I received cartridge but not the art. I enjoy collecting art from all games I played and it’s sincerely frustrating even though the product was in really good shape!

It’s a corny little kids game but my kids used to argue over it so I had to buy them both their own copy.

This is my first time playing Animal Crossing, but have played similar games like Stardew Valley in the past. Theres a lot to love about this game, and its a welcome break during the Covid madness, but there are also a lot of oversights that make this game quickly becoming lame for me. What I love: - Relaxing - Simple activities without much of any action. You fish, you plant flowers, you interior design. Thats about it. - UI/Design - The simplicity of the design for things like fishing (no on-screen icons, just you, your rod, and the water). The characters are also super cute. What I dont like: - Multiplayer - We bought one copy to share on our single device, with two separate online Switch accounts. My partner and I were forced to share the same island. Further, only the FIRST person to play the game gets to progress the story (e.g. unlockable events from Tom Nook like building bridges and getting key recipes). - Repetitive simple tasks - You need to eat food to do heavy-lifting chores like digging up trees. You need to eat each food item individually, so in order to move 10 trees you need to eat one apple 10 times, which is annoying because each apple takes about 10 seconds to eat. - A culture of prioritizing grinding (i.e. requiring the user to spend countless hours playing to unlock simple upgrades) - There are many ways to use the game design to get money quickly, such as tarantula hunting. Granted, some of them Id consider cheating such as changing the timestamp of your Switch to move ahead in time, or duplicating expensive items, which I support them getting rid of as they arent fair and against the point of the game. With each new update that has come out, theyve found ways to ensure people cant make money quickly. The tarantulas on islands is a popular one, but they have been making it difficult to actually make use of it - such as adding water bugs that force tarantulas to not spawn, or adding 3-layer islands so you have to constantly use pole-vault/ladder which is very time-consuming. Some people dont want to spend 30 hours of gameplay fishing for the same fish, so why force people to do this? - Online play: You have to go to the airport and open/close the gate, and unless you do this, you cant do many actions on your island such as redecorating. Again, a waste of time that they seem to encourage. - Second active player - When someone dials in another user on the same Switch, they can follow the main player around. However, there isnt much that player can do aside from simple emotions and using tools. Picking up items is time-consuming (again) as it does a celebration graphic for every single item. Theres no access to your inventory. And when the second player is away from their controller, there is no auto-follow option which makes the camera angle a huge hindrance to the primary player. I think this game can be good, but its got a lot wrong with it that seems to be intentional by the game designers. All in all a fun game, but I wouldnt recommend it to anyone for any reason other than to visit my island. :-P

Animal Crossing has always been part of my childhood, and this game made my experience with the series a hundred times better. The new features that give you more freedom, the amazing graphics, the player customization- it all comes together perfectly. I was skeptical of a few things before, but now I couldnt be happier about it. Though there are a few low points, such as repetitive character dialect and multiplayer, Nintendos dedication to making this a great experience for all players (new and old) has won me over, as they have time and time again. 10/10 would recommend this game to anyone with an open mind.

I agree with other reviewers that local multiplayer is disappointing and poorly thought out. All users on our switch console must share one island and only the first user gets to complete tasks. So our youngest daughter gets to try to accomplish everything and everyone else has to wait for her slow speed. And, I have to avoid taking or doing anything that she might want to do so she isn’t disappointed or sad that she doesn’t get it. It basically leaves me the options of fishing, catching bugs and shaking trees. Pretty boring pretty fast. Based on other reviews on other sites it gets worse as the game progresses. Very very poorly thought out. Wandering around in coop mode is boring and irritating. There is little to no play value as the coop players don’t get to keep anything they pick up. It goes to lost and found. Why should I have to buy a second console to have my own island???? Ive waited years for another major console animal crossing and the result just doesn’t work for families.

One of the few games on the market that can be enjoyed by the entire family. Wife and daughter spend hours playing. Can pick and choose who visits your island. Emode (think that’s what they are called) can be scanned in and added to game. Family fun.

I am an Animal Crossing fan from the GameCube days. This is the worst one Ive played. We just had Toy Day and I dont know how much you have to play or manipulate the game to fully enjoy holidays, because we just started playing early this month, but this was the saddest Toy Day in our households history. The odds were not in our favor. I see from the internet that folks are selling, with real money, items from the games. I dont know. This version is not as good as I thought it would be, considering how much I enjoyed playing Pocket Camp. Ill just keep playing on the Wii. Well use our Switch for the other games we love. Animal Crossing New Horizons had a lot of potential, but I feel more frustrated and disappointed with this version. Its very strange how they took a beautiful, beloved game and made it annoying. You put a lot of work into this version, its not a chill-and-play game. Then, when you see what youre missing when you visit other islands, it has a dampening effect. Toy Day will only come once a year and we didnt get hardly any DIYs in our balloons. Sadness. I hope other holidays are better.

Escape to a deserted island and create your own paradise as you explore, create, and customize in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game. Your island getaway has a wealth of natural resources that can be used to craft everything from tools to creature comforts. You can hunt down insects at the crack of dawn, decorate your paradise throughout the day, or enjoy sunset on the beach while fishing in the ocean. The time of day and season match real life, so each day on your island is a chance to check in and find new surprises all year round.

Show off your island utopia to family and friends—or pack your bags and visit theirs. Whether playing online or with others beside you, island living is even better when you can share it. Even without hopping on a flight, you’ll meet a cast of charming animal residents bursting with personality. Friendly faces like Tom Nook and Isabelle will lend their services and happily help you grow your budding community. Escape to your island getaway—however, whenever, and wherever you want.
