Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch

As a lifelong Animal Crossing fan (Animal Crossing for the GameCube released when I was about 9), this is already my favorite installment since the original. Nintendo has managed to keep so much of the original nostalgia while adding in lots of new features. I love the addition of the crafting aspect that can add a bit of problem-solving to an otherwise straightforward life simulator. As always, its absolutely adorable and I cannot stop playing and improving my island. Awesome job, Nintendo!

Despite all the chaos going on with the global pandemic, they were able to deliver my physical copy on the day of its release! Im incredibly pleased with how the distributor regularly kept me up to date regarding the ETA. The only thing is that I didnt receive a manual inside of the game. It was sealed and everything, it was just missing the manual. Its odd, but these are trying times. Im just stoked that they were able to deliver it on time!

A HUGE plus for giving people more to do and for continuing to support the game! The crafting system is pretty fun! It gives you reasons to explore yours and other random islands. So many custom designs! I do wish each player/character got their own list of designs. Could use improvements on buttons used to do things. Sometimes multiple functions for the same button gets in the way, like picking things up and erasing tiles, or using an item and shaking a tree. I dont play the game much, but it could use a way to transfer saves to another Switch or cloud save in case your Switch gets stolen.

If this was a single player experience, 5 stars easy. Unfortunately, I got a copy for myself and for my 2 nieces and nephew so I could play with they live in a separate state. Ive been having a great time, them, not so much. They are fighting, yelling, screaming and crying because the leader keeps popping them where they dont want to go. My sister fixed it by having them only play 1 at a time so local multiplayer is a useless feature in my opinion. Ive been visiting my oldest nieces character and decided to visit the younger one but it turns out you cant just link 1 Nintendo account to all users on the switch and use the paid subscription to do any multiplayer unless you are the main player of the game. My oldest niece had to clear out her inventory so they wouldnt mix up whats her and hers sister after the younger one visited me with her sisters character. It was such a headache to call them up and try to help them over the phone to only realize they couldnt do it and we had to figure something else out. Personally, I give it 5 stars for the single player since its a slightly better version of the previous games. Ive been enjoying myself and so have my nieces. Just NEVER TOGETHER (remember this rule and it will save your family a massive headache). This was suppose to be a positive review but knowing the experience my sister and brother-in-law went through, Im compensated the rating. Its like older animals crossing games except now youre locked to 1 island per console instead of 1 town per cartridge but $260-$360 is far more expensive than just an additional $50-$60. I can get why people would be mad. I hope Nintendo fix the Call Resident issue or just get rid of it altogether. My oldest niece who is 8 mentioned Why isnt it like Mario Kart with the split screen?! and I had to tell her, Its complicated?

So disappointed...purchased in August ...opened it 4 days ago...the villagers stop communicating after three days. Ugh. Next day update...since I did not know what to do with this defect...I search the web on the product...did a soft reboot product now working fine... did not have a new switch to test it out in August.

This is definitely a game for those who like to spend lots of time designing and moving things around a virtual map or enjoy collecting items and repeating tasks daily. *spoilers alert- please proceed with caution* It was fun running into the otter Pascal who is always looking for scallops, in exchange he will give you mermaid themed items or pearls. This was my favorite mini game but once you collect all the items, now what? Buying new clothes is fun and the activities like digging up fossils, fishing, and catching bugs seem like a chore after a while. At certain hours or days, you may run into special guests and collect limited items but their appearance is random. This game kept me entertained for a month.

While I enjoy animal crossing and will enjoy this game I am very disappointed in the multiplayer. As a lady that enjoys playing video games with my husband I honestly expected to be able to play full multiplayer in this game. This game does not allow full 2 player capabilities as the 2nd play is very neutered in what they can do. There is far too much controller shaking involved in trying to be able to do anything in order to give the other person a chance at playing with all items and access to the bag and shop. We both wanted to have a full two player co-op experience and you just dont get that with this game at all. Its the biggest let down game moment for us since Splatoon 2 was online co-op or multi-switch co-op only. While Ill still play my game and enjoy it I would absolutely love the game if it had a full multiplayer setup. I just feel such disappointment. This game couldve been perfect but it missed its chance.

I love this game if y’all are wondering if it’s good or not it is keeps you busy for hours that’s for sure it’s cute cozy and I can’t really explain this game so I kinda hope this was helpful

Played the game for months straight and then got Burt t out . It’s great game with a lot to do and build. Good customization jsut wish it was not suck a grind.
