14-04-2025I don’t know why they like it so much they fight over it. It’s a pretty slow paced game. They talk me into getting on to it with them from time to time, but I get board SO fast. They like it though.

> 3 daySuch a fun and addicting game. However, if youd like to play with others you will have to purchase the online package from Nintendo. Its not a whole lot of money but its something I didnt know before purchasing. Also, if you are purchasing this to play couch co-op, just know its not equal for both players. You have severely limited options if you are not player 1. Also, you cant create multiple islands per switch so if you have 2 kids you plan on sharing this game, it may get complicated. HOWEVER. I have had a lot of fun playing and it has been a great time-killer while we are stuck at home.

> 3 dayAlthough, I do love this game- I find almost every task tedious. With most items and tools used in the game, you have to manually go back to your home just to access it. Running from one side of the island to the other just to access one use of an item is honestly... very annoying. Other than the giant parade of running and slow building, I really enjoy this Title

> 3 dayMy 11 year old daughter loves this game and has played with it every day for the last month and doesn’t seem to be getting tired of it yet. She visits her friend’s island (with a Nintendo membership), and enjoys the ability to play with friends. A great game. The only downside is it is a game where multiple plays can play, but only on the one island and only in the same island scenario. Basically, it’s a single player game which is disappointing because my 7 year old would like to play but since it was my daughter’s birthday gift, she won’t let him because he’d have to play in her island world she created. Disappointing that I’d have to buy another game for him.

> 3 dayBeen playing since release day. Please send help. My island is 5 stars, I have the cutest villagers, and a lovely garden. But Ive also stopped paying my real life bills. My rent is past due, my car got repod, and I think theyre looking to shut my water and gas off here in the next few days. My wife was threatening to leave me, until I got her to also play the game with me, now she wont leave. Silver linings, I guess.

> 3 dayOver the years I have tried several iterations of Animal Crossing and never understood the hype. I always buy the big releases from Nintendo, and was thinking about passing this one by because I haven’t gotten in to this series before... but I am glad I gave it a shot! This game is super chill. You have a character on an island and do things like: - Search for materials such as wood, stone, clay, iron, tree branches, etc. - Find recipes to craft things. These might be given to you by other people on the island, found in a bottle on the shore of a beach, etc. - Craft things like tools, furniture, campfires, etc. - Visit a store that has different merchandise each day. - Go fishing. - Capture insects - Dig up fossils The typical gameplay loop for a given day is something like: go around and gather materials (there is a set amount you can get each day), search the beach for bottles that might have crafting recipes, visit the store to see if there is any interesting stuff for sale, craft/sell any items to the store that they are buying for extra $$ on a given day, dig up and donate fossils to a museum on your island. You collect money in the game by either just finding it or selling stuff, and can use it to upgrade your home from a tent, to a house, to a bigger house, etc (with more room to put stuff). The game seems to be intended to play in small chunks on a daily basis, which I actually really like. It has a lot of charm, is very relaxing to play, and has a really enjoyable gameplay loop that is fun but low stress. On the surface it seems like there’s not a lot to the game, which is part of why I have not gotten in to this series in the past, but playing this one I feel like I finally get it. It’s whatever you make of it. For me it is just a really relaxing way to spend 15-30 mins a day.
