the product might work for others, but I have used it and have too much trouble trying to get the valve core out. its useless to pull a vacuum with this tool.

I ordered (2) MGAVCT 1/4 on 10/12/2019. I was hesitant to order because I have seen many complaints about not being able to remove the valve core reliably. I dont know if Appion redesigned the extractor, or if I am just lucky, but both of mine grip and remove the valve core just fine. Just be sure to apply a firm pressure to the pushrod, to grip the core, before unscrewing the core. Instructions are also included that explains how to squeeze the pushrod fork tighter, using pliers, if you want an even tighter grip. However I see no need to do this since the grip seems plenty strong enough without adjustment. Also these seem to hold a vacuum just fine, aside from some small outgasing which occurs on most valves and flexible hoses.

I got two, makes my job a lot easier when recovering/pulling vacuums and charging units and I can definitely feel the quality at work when dealing with some of the troublesome Schrader valves.

Hands-down the highest quality core tool. A must-have for pulling a vacuum efficiently.

Works ok, I expected better from Appion. replaced a lost supco. Not impressed with shrader valves regularly getting stuck half way through this tool requiring reinstalling the valve, manipulating the shut off and attempting again...

The product is exactly what I would expect for the price they are asking. This tool is a must have for any HVAC tech trying to do quality work in a timely manner. The only problem I have is the lack of attention to the shrader remover. Burrs on both sides of the shrader tongs. I had gotten two of these and both of them had the same problem. Had to deburr and ever so slightly widen the tongs.

Pulled one vacuum correctly and will not put schrader back into position. I’m not sure if I just got a dud but very disappointed

This is a must for any HVAC Refrigeration technician. Easy to use and is magnetic, this is good to use to pull a vacuum without the shredder valve., or to replace shredder valves.

There are many similar tools from different manufacturers that are rated for the higher pressures of r410a. Vacuum rated means it can hold normal air pressure, 14.696 PSI. Why would anyone want a tool that is certified to hold such a low pressure? Is this really the best that Apion can do? If you do a little research you too can find similar tools for much less with much higher pressure ratings. Apparently Appian is marketing to the least informed consumers.
