> 3 dayI have been a pc user my entire life and took the plunge into the apple platform with this 16 MacBook Pro and it is simple bliss. The speed is mind blowing, the screen beautiful, I can not find anything bad to say. You should get a shell case to keep safe (as seen in photos) I got the base model and am happy as can be with it, I think if I had gotten the more spec out model my head may have exploded. I am now convinced that on judgement day that when god looks for my name in the big book he will do it on a MacBook Pro. :)

> 3 dayWhen I plugged it in, the power adapter (“brick”) didn’t work. I used the adapter for my iPhone and that worked, so it wasn’t the cable or the computer. So now here I sit outside an Apple store, waiting for my appointment, fer cryin’ out loud. A great way to start a relationship with Apple, and I’m afraid it sort of confirms some of the stories I’ve heard about how superior Apple people act. I have to make an appointment and drive somewhere and then wait for somebody to say, “Yep, that’s no good,” and then give me another one under warranty. At least I hope it’s that simple!

> 3 daySeemed a good time to leave windows as this Mac is one of the best suited (for me) multimedia machines in its price range. To upgrade to sufficient W11 machine was about the same price. Was not difficult to transfer data and I quickly adapted to Ventura OS and programs after 37 years PC/Windows. Also able to download my primary productivity programs in Mac versions, which for me was better than switching to some of the Apple software. (Research software options well if you are thinking of changing OS.) I am very happy with the keyboard as it is lighter touch and reduces fatigue during my rather long times at work. I would have liked a number pad on the Mac, but a bluetooth pad works OK since I dot do as much number work as in the past. The magnetic, easy release charger is nice and I like the charging software for the machine. The touchpad is good, but I use a bluetooth mouse virtually all the time. I do miss my touchscreen a bit, especially the ability to more quickly enlarge a specific viewing area. But overall, a good tradeoff. No regrets, just a few things to relearn or do a bit differently. Speakers far better than any Windows machine I had prior, and I had some pretty good speakers and higher end platforms. I dont use an external speaker anymore. I had a fingerprint reader for security on at least one prior machine. Forgot how much I liked it.

Greater than one weekI’m happy to have waited for this purchase. $500 discount for being a soon-to-be-previous model. Skipped the TouchBar generations, thank God. (I use one at work.) The 16-inch display was the big seller. Major upgrade from my 13” 2013 MacBook Pro. I don’t doubt that this one will last as long.
