> 3 dayI bought this to use as an intro to gouache and it has been one of my favorite purchases as far as art supplies go. I have a tendency to buy professional art supplies even when I’m learning something new, but I had heard about these paints and loved the idea of getting a quality start without overspending. I’ve been very impressed with the performance of these!

> 3 dayMy 10 YOs face lit up when she saw these. I had also included heavy duty paper and pallets. I think these are for the more serious aspiring child artist. Remember to buy paper and other items so they can hit the road running.

> 3 dayIve only just started my first painting with these, but they seem to have good dense pigments and beautiful colors. I like having the metallics for some extra oompf. I think these are a great deal for the price.

> 3 dayThis review concerns the 60 color set of Arteza gouache. Im an amateur landscape painter with some years of experience working with colors for photographic printing, and for painting with pastels. For my purposes as a beginner at gouache, the Arteza set is a good start, for now. Theres a wide selection of colors, and for the beginner many of the colors are quite adequate in saturation. As with any gouache, some colors are more opaque than others, and it takes some practice to learn how to apply the paint properly. Im pleased with the set. However, there are some surprising limitations. First, there is no cyan, as such, and no magenta, as such. These are surprising omissions, since cyan and magenta are foundational colors. There is no Paynes gray, which would have been a very helpful addition. The olive green supplied will not appeal to many people. The browns supplied are not attractive (okay, theyre actively ugly!) The range of purples and lilacs is quite limited. While you can mix approximations of all these colors, I wonder how many purchasers of this set will be interested in learning how to mix them. Instead of the above colors, there are several pearl metallic colors which some people might like, but most people will not use. I think anyone whos half serious about painting will want to learn how to mix a range of browns, purples, and lilacs. Once you get started doing that, youll quickly find out how easy it is to mix other colors. Despite the above limitations, I like this set. Its fun to play around, mixing colors which appeal to me more than some of those supplied. I would recommend this to a friend, with the same warnings Ive included here.

> 3 dayThese paints are very easy to use and very affordable. I like that it comes in tubes, since you can decide yourself whether to use it fresh or make pans, and the amount of paint you get from each tube is reasonable. You can get a wide range of sheerness out of it, with light washes of it working like watercolor while thicker applications can be completely opaque. The colors are vibrant, you get a lot choices. Only issue is that you cant order by the tube if you favor a particular one. If youre looking to get into gouache in an affordable way, these arteza paints are a good way to go. Im sure that if you wanted something about student-grade these wouldnt quite cut it, but for beginners, they work just fine.

> 3 dayI will say I love these paints, they have a nice texture and wonderful colors. My only complaint with these are how thin the metal tubes are. I have actually had one end up with a puncture hole just from the corner of another tube when I had them in a box altogether. I put some jb weld on it to seal in the paint, but be careful with the tubes as they are very thin. I know have them sorted in a way that they dont get moved around a lot near the sharper edges. Other than the packaging these are a great buy.

> 3 dayI love these paints! only docked a star because you cannot purchase the individual tubes if you run out of a color. if Arteza starts doing individual tubes then I would change it for 5 stars! You get a huge amount of colors and therr are often $10 off coupons especially on Amazon. I tried the Reeves gouache and the Masters Touch gouache at my local hobby stores and these Arteza paints are by far the best ones Ive tried. No streakiness and the selection of colors makes for infinite color mixing options! -Tasha Null of Null and Void Art

> 3 dayI really enjoy this paint. its fun to work with and if you are taking too long just add water and it will reactivate the paint again. Some of the paint is a little sheer and you should do swatches yourself so you can see cause what they say on the box isnt accurate.
