> 3 dayGouache is one of my favorite painting mediums, and Ive been coveting this Arteza set for months. I finally decided to order the set, and was very impressed when it arrived. The colors appear to be so beautiful and subtle that I cant wait to start using them. Ill add them to the Arteza colored pencil and watercolor sets I already own, and hopefully create many wonderful pieces of mixed media art.

> 3 dayand they are more than good enough for me. I’ve contemplated getting this set for a few years. It went down to $30 and I couldn’t resist anymore. I signed up for the two free months of Skillshare and so far I’ve taken two classes on beginner painting florals with gouache. The paints performed very well. I have no complaints. My class projects were far from perfect, but they ended up looking more like flowers than I expected. And who can turn down getting 60 beautiful paint colors in the mail? Not me, that’s for sure. I’m very happy with the purchase. If my technique ends up getting much better, well then I’ll think about a small Holbein set. For now I have all I need or could want.

> 3 dayI love these paints! only docked a star because you cannot purchase the individual tubes if you run out of a color. if Arteza starts doing individual tubes then I would change it for 5 stars! You get a huge amount of colors and therr are often $10 off coupons especially on Amazon. I tried the Reeves gouache and the Masters Touch gouache at my local hobby stores and these Arteza paints are by far the best ones Ive tried. No streakiness and the selection of colors makes for infinite color mixing options! -Tasha Null of Null and Void Art

> 3 dayThe color selection is UNREAL, 60 full tubes, really great pastels and earth tones. The shimmer colors add a nice glimmer to the page and pleasantly surprised me with their consistency. This gouache is much better behaved than Reeves and has stayed pretty moist in my travel palette. Its also super easy to re-wet. I would definitely recommend this set to any who wants to make a custom gouache palette or just wants to experiment with gouache without having to constantly mix colors.

> 3 dayGreat range of colors but I would have preferred larger tubes and a fewer colors - I can mix to get various shades but the basic white, black, brown etc are important for large paintings. The quality of the paint isnt the issue, but the tubes are more like sample sizes.

> 3 dayIve been using these for about 6 months now and I basically like them. Because of their low price, theyre a great alternative to premium gouache brands. Im using these dry from a palette. Although they crack and crumble like most gouache, they do reactivate easily and offer good coverage. Note: If I tip the palette, the little pieces of dried paint fall out of their compartments and mix together, something thats typical of most gouache brands. (My Holbein set is an exception.) As expected, these paints dont have the pigment load of a high quality paint brand like my Holbein set. I find the Arteza gouache mostly acceptable. My issues with this set is 1. The metallic colors dont have much shimmer, and 2. the color assortment is too garish and neon for my taste. I was not happy with my initial paintings because they were so bright. However, I realized that I can get great subtle colors when I mix my own colors. Thats not what I intended when I purchased these. I bought this set intending to have a good selection of premixed colors so I wouldnt have to mix my own. The mixing takes time, but Im getting better at it. If youre someone who loves bright neon colors, youll probably love this set. I would definitely recommend these to beginning/intermediate artists who want to familiarize themselves with gouache painting without breaking the bank to do it.

> 3 dayThis was a real bargain! I’m a beginner to gouache but not to oils, watercolors or acrylic. That is why I only gave a 3 for “beginners.” I also gave only a 3 for sheerness, as I tend to apply heavily. The colors are just beautiful!!

Greater than one weekI did a painting using gouache for the first time, and it turned out pretty well. The colors are opaque, but also can be less by adding water. I did have to experiment with water to get the desired paint consistency, but overall, I think it went well. Looking forward to more fun!

> 3 dayI had tried cheap-o gouache before - you know the ones I mean - and was always frustrated. This Arteza set was a game changer for me. It works so much better. I love the matte finish, and will be using this instead of acrylic paint in my journal from now on.
