> 3 dayI have a tough beard, I get ingrown hairs like most people grow regular facial hair when I use a cartridge razor. I have to shave my face no less than 3 times with these blades to get a great clean shave but Im not complaining because I love the way my face feels afterwards. Ill definitely try the feather blades next but only a small pack because theyre way more expensive and I dont know how bad they will cut my face since my beard is so tough it might be better at shaving straight through it or it might struggle and cut me a lot. I bought 100 of these and I really feel like that was good value. I want to punch myself in the face thinking about all of the money I spent on Gillette and Schick razor cartridges that never gave me the perfect kind of shave that my Merkur and Astra blades give me.

> 3 dayHave used these for a couple of years. Astra are middle of range in sharpness and durability. I get far fewer nicks with these than others blades. All skin textures are different but these work for me.

> 3 dayI’ve read some people complaining that the blades don’t last long. I get two full head and face shaves per blade but they are great shaves no irritation. For the price of them, I’ll take that for a clean smooth shave. I do a complete shave mostly twice a week. There’s 20 packs of five blades and I use a pack a month so one box last me over a year and a half. I spent $14 for 20 months of blades; well worth it even with the short life of the blade!!

> 3 dayThese are the best razor blades I have ever used. And I am not a reviewer - just a regular guy. They are very sharp - and that actually makes them EASIER to use. They are really a pleasure.

> 3 dayI have a Bevel Saftey razor and had been using those but after trying these ill never go back. They work great! Im a pretty average shaver I just use Barbasol shave foam and each razor is good for about 3 shaves.

> 3 dayIve used other blades that leave me feeling perfectly smooth but after the first use of the first blade in the pack I realized that there was something wrong. It left my legs feeling sore and bumpy so I threw that blade away and went to the next one in the pack hoping it was a fluke. Tried the next blade and the exact same thing happened. I dont know if all the blades are poorly made or if I got a bad batch but I wouldnt risk it on such a large quantity potentially being bunk.

> 3 dayId recently gotten into alternative razor shaving as the cost of even Harrys has gotten a bit out of control. My first shot was buying a straight razor - which is fine if you can consistently keep them honed which is quite a bit of a trick. Id had some good fortune with a cheap straight razor for a few months before my attempts at stropping and honing werent doing me much good other than scraping hair off my face painfully. Around Fathers day I was slumming around my local Dollar Tree for snacks when I noticed the had a straight shaving kit in three parts for a dollar each. Figured Why the hell not and gave that a try. I tell you, even those dollar store blades were pretty dang good. I averaged three to five shaves out of them without any problem other than the learning curve, but Id run out of the introductory set of 5 and needed replacements. Feather? Too expensive. Gillette? No thanks. Ah, lets try these - Just right. Sharp, smooth and only requiring a light touch I dont think Ive had a closer, less irritated shave ever - even when having gone up to quadruple blades with the cartridge shavers - your face feels smooth because of the damn gel, not because its smooth. But here - go down once - *carefully* and go back up *even more carefully* and there isnt even a ghost of a stubble. Just be prepared for a few nicks and make sure you move in straight lines up and down.

> 3 dayI tried the “multi-pack” of different blades when I started using a safety razor 10+ years ago, and these blades were just right. I’ve been using Astras all this time, and I don’t regret it. The shave is even smoother when you whisk your own soap, but they work just fine with canned shaving gel. Considering the value, I advise switching blades twice a week (especially if you have thick facial hair growth such as myself). I swap the blade every Sunday/Wednesday and I never get any razor burn or bumps. Fantastic blades. That said? If you’re just starting out, buy a variety pack first and see what works for you best. Every face is different.
