When you spend $250 on a Gaming monitor, you would expect an Audio OUTPUT device! Nothing! Just awfull speaker and 0 headphone jack or any other output! DO NOT BUY! Yeah the graphics are somewhat decent, but when you turn games up to the full max and still cant hear through the cheesy speakers...You have lost money!!! Not worth the buy

Wanted to upgrade my monitor for 120 FPS since the new consoles support higher frame rates on select titles and this monitor makes games play like a dream. Super responsive and fluid gameplay and offers some picture/display settings that are also nice additions. Dont listen to the few people that say that it doesnt allow you to play at 120 FPS on console because clearly they dont know what theyre talking about. Highly recommend this product!

Asus always make great products and this will last me a while

When my old Dell Ultrasharp met an unfortunate end, it was time for a new monitor. I was looking for something under $250 US, with good color for both gaming and general family use. I knew there would be tradeoffs at this price point, so I spent quite a bit of time on research. When I decided on the Asus 249Q, I tried to buy it at my preferred retailer for electronics - Best Buy - but they were out of stock. Fortunately, Amazon had 9 available. UPS trashed the package during delivery, but the monitor itself was unscathed. Assembly was laughably easy ... really good engineering. My priorities were: 1. Screen quality - IPS panel, 144Hz, 4ms/1ms response. This is a first generation IPS gaming monitor, and I am very pleased with how it looks and performs out of the box. The on-screen controls are plentiful and easy to use, but I thought the stock settings were perfect for my use. 2. Stand quality - I wanted something solid and adjustable. This stand swivels, tilts, and has height adjustment. Its footprint is small, and I love the minimalist look. The connectors on the back are a bit difficult to reach, but I like that they do not disrupt the lines. This monitor has an elegant look from every angle, including the back. 3. Connections - I needed both an HDMI (for my Xbox One X) and a DisplayPort (for my computer). And the trade-offs: UPDATE - Asus was less than honest in listing the specifications. While featuring that the monitor supports FreeSync, they did not specify that this is only via DisplayPort, not HDMI. They are smart people and must know that this omission is misleading. 1. No G-sync. If you are looking to buy or built a computer with a GTX GPU, this might be an issue. 2. Connectors. There is one HDMI, one DisplayPort, one VGA, and strangely one audio-in jack (no audio out jack). Thats it. No USB. This works for me. 3. Speakers. I dont believe monitors should try to do audio. It never ends well. This monitor includes speakers, and, no surprise, they are thin and weak. I was initially very pleased with my purchase and gave it 5 stars. The monitor has no evident quality issues. I am disappointed with Asus for its misleading specifications regarding FreeSync support. Anyways, if any additional issues come up, I will circle back and update this review.

I received this product with a dead pixel in the bottom left of the screen. It was out of the way and doesn’t bother me so I didn’t make a big deal of it but it is a bit annoying paying this price for a product just to have a small defect right away out of the box. If it would have been in the middle of my screen this may have been much different as I’m pretty sure the warranty for this you must have 3 or more dead pixels for a return. Although, I am not positive on this. I just didn’t want to look into it. I love the quality and the features it has. You definitely won’t be disappointed with this monitor. The tilt and spin capabilities is awesome. You can adjust the height of the screen to your liking. The blue light filter is something I originally didn’t care about but now I find myself using it from time to time. The only other complaint I have is the set up of gsync/freesync. It is somewhat difficult to figure out and once I got it I was getting occasional flashes of a black screen. The only thing I wish this monitor had was easier compatibility with gsync and obviously no dead pixels. I understand dead pixels can happen on any monitor but seeing a black spec on your brand new screen is slightly disappointing.. that’s the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Other than that, I have no complaints and this is a great product!

The downward spiral of the picture quality after only 10 months is drastic. For home use, I would avoid this model. Its fairly unwatchable at this point and there is no recourse to return or fix.

I havent tweaked anything yet but out of the box this monitor looks great. I love how the mount works.

I wanted a 144 Hz monitor because the main game I play is Call of Duty and 120 fps makes a big difference. Throughout the process of me looking into monitors, it was really annoying trying to find out if they actually could run 120 fps on the PS5. Obviously this varies game to game, but certain monitors just literally aren’t compatible for whatever reason. Can confirm that when you put the PS5 in performance mode, it will automatically enable 120 fps on games that support it. As far as the monitor itself, the IPS panel looks great for the most part and the actual build of it doesn’t feel cheap. Would 100% recommend if you’re looking for a good 1080p 144 Hz monitor.
