Excellent monitor for gaming, it is also g-sync compatible. The colors are great and I had no issues with dead pixels. Definitely worth buying.

The monitor worked great for just under one year. Unfortunately, horizontal lines started appearing across the screen even when it wasnt hooked up to a computer. ASUS support is absolutely useless. DO NOT BUY A MONITOR FROM ASUS!!! It is so frustrating to have a product under warranty and then get the runaround by a company like ASUS. Online support and telephone support took hours and hours of time simply to get a ticket number to repair.

1080p 144hz IPS display for $250? I was very skeptical. I bought it to give it a try and also because I couldnt find any other 1080p 144hz IPS displays besides an Acer one that has a serious flaw in its design making the 144hz near useless. Any who the image looks great. This DOES work with NVIDIA G-SYNC. Im running this on a non super RTX 2070 and every thing is awesome. It takes quite a bit of menu surfing to set it up, not just on the monitor but on your pc in the NVIDIA control panel to get the two talking to each other but it does Indeed work. Keep in mind Im coming from a cheap 22 Dell 1080p glossy monitor too so this is a huge step up for me. My opinion may be a bit skewed based on that fact. Turning on 144hz makes a huge difference. Its night and day. Like if you got lasik surgery after wearing glasses for 20 years kind of difference. Even when not playing video games. I noticed the 144hz immediately when moving my cursor around. Everything was just sharper. The ELMB (EXTREME LOW MOTION BLUR) I keep off because it causes the monitor lose a boatload of brightness. Other than the monitor brightness issue I dont notice its off. IMO its kind of useless and is just a selling point. The built in 2 watt speakers actually arent half bad for what they are. Built in speakers are always garbage but these actually manage to make listening to audio not sound ear piercing, tin can like, and thin. They have zero bass obviously but if I had to rely on these for every day tasks I wouldnt be mad. The shadow boost function works well but it too does cause the monitor to loose some over all brightness. Not as bad as the ELMB function but its still noticeable. Again I just leave this off and use gamma correction in the Nvidia control panel or in the game im playing to adjust for this. Over all if you want a monitor that is 1080p only, 144hz, and IPS that works on both AMD and Nvidia GPUs then this seems to be an almost perfect monitor for that. As far as longevity goers, we will have to see. My room mate has a higher end ASUS 1440p gaming monitor that comes with all the bells, whistles, and a kitchen sink but its seems like its back light is already going out after just over 8 months of him owning it. it still works but it makes me worry about ASUS quality these days. He cant get it fixed because he says ASUS customer support is non existent, but what gaming peripheral company has good support anyways right? Theyre all mostly bad at it. If you are looking at this monitor specifically for ELMB and or the Shadow Boost funtions you will be very disappointed as they gimp the monitor to provide a slight boost in visuals. if they can figure out how to implement ELMB in a monitor with out brightness loss and maybe make it a little more efficient it could the next big feature for monitors. All in all Id say its VERY good purchase as long as it lasts for a few years.

If you want a monitor that will give you true, natural color, look somewhere else. This monitor is a waste of money - if I didnt miss the return window I would have returned it, heres why: Im an avid gamer and used the VG248 as my primary monitor. I wanted an IPS monitor with the same specs to use as a dual monitor, so I bought the VG249 (this one). While the IPS has certain advantages over a TN panel, the coloration options for the VG249 make it unusable for anything other than specific gaming functions. The main problem is that there is no Standard Mode, like on almost EVERY OTHER MONITOR out there. I have to choose between 7 different modes that all make pictures look nothing like the original taken on a camera. Mostly, the pictures come out with a reddish/darkening hue which cannot be adequately fixed by changing Windows or monitor onboard color settings (in fact, for most of the monitor modes, you cant edit color settings at all). This monitor is completely useless for doing photo or video editing, and if you want to do normal tasks like look at a family photo album, everyones face will look like theyre about to have a heart-attack. On the VG248, standard mode makes pictures look normal/the way they were taken. Yes, images are sharper, but the discoloration is abominable. What a waste of $250.

This monitor is horribly blurry, yellow tinted. Do yourself a favor and buy any other monitor its not worth it. I returned and replaced the monitor thinking that the yellow tint was a defect but after receiving my replacement I learned that is just how the monitor looks. The replacement I got also was damaged with the frame bent causing backlight bleed. Definitely not worth the money or the hassle.

I bought this as my only option for a 144hz monitor with a non-TN PANEL. I am blown away by the quality. I only wish it had the updated control buttons as the GUI is kind of terrible

poor picture quality with obvious sharpness issues. not worth the price imo. more like a $150 monitor.

Everything is perfect except the stuck pixel. When out of box it has a stuck pixel in center of screen. I replaced it and now it has a dead pixel on right bottom side. I will try one more replacemnet. If it still has dead or stuck pixel. I will get refund it try other product. Everything else is good. No ghosting, elmb, 144fps so smooth and love it.

I received this product with a dead pixel in the bottom left of the screen. It was out of the way and doesn’t bother me so I didn’t make a big deal of it but it is a bit annoying paying this price for a product just to have a small defect right away out of the box. If it would have been in the middle of my screen this may have been much different as I’m pretty sure the warranty for this you must have 3 or more dead pixels for a return. Although, I am not positive on this. I just didn’t want to look into it. I love the quality and the features it has. You definitely won’t be disappointed with this monitor. The tilt and spin capabilities is awesome. You can adjust the height of the screen to your liking. The blue light filter is something I originally didn’t care about but now I find myself using it from time to time. The only other complaint I have is the set up of gsync/freesync. It is somewhat difficult to figure out and once I got it I was getting occasional flashes of a black screen. The only thing I wish this monitor had was easier compatibility with gsync and obviously no dead pixels. I understand dead pixels can happen on any monitor but seeing a black spec on your brand new screen is slightly disappointing.. that’s the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Other than that, I have no complaints and this is a great product!
