Okay so I currently live in a dorm so I cant utilize this projector to its fullest but soon Ill have my own theatre room. Anyway heres a short video of the projector in action. Just on my plain wall which is white paint. The blacks are actually amazing. I cant imagine what this will look like on a silver or black screen. I cant stress how good HDR looks! I own a QLED TV and wow this is comparable with the extra movie emersion! As you can hear the sound is not bad if youre on a budget and cant buy a surround sound system yet. No worries this can still deliver quality sound. No changes in settings. I just plugged it in and turned it on. Only adjustments needed were the focus ring. I also liked the remote. Especially the satisfying clicking feel and sound from pressing the buttons. Overall I have poor conditions for a projector setup right now yet this projector performs brilliantly. UPDATE!! 2AUG19: the blacks produced are so good I highly recommend a white or grey screen otherwise you lose the vivid colors. I only watch in dark so its pointless to have a black screen. UPDATE!! 10AUG19: got my new silver ticket white matte screen. This paired with the projector makes me feel like Im in the movie theater.

Awesome projector with great image. It also has plenty of features that the more expensive projectors have.

Great picture but I could not get over the loud fan. Where I sit with a decibel tester was 40. Late night when you turn the volume down all you hear is the fan. Would have given more stars but to loud. RETURNED :(

Awesome picture quality. Bright enough for darker rooms. Meets expectations! Cons: 1. A bit too noisy for my taste. You can hear it during quieter scenes. 2. No horizontal keystone correction is bummer. I have to move my screen to perfectly align with the lens.

SDR quality is good, and HDR without the Wide Color Gamut filter is engaged looks very good...However, when the WCG filter is engaged, it adds a distinctly blue/green tint to the image. It doesnt just reduce brightness as I have read about. Wish I could watch in DCI-P3 HDR mode, but it just doesnt look good at all. Also, when I have a white on black image on the screen, say the white text on the Eco Blank screen, or white movie credits on black background there is a significant blue/purple shadow around the text. This is only noticeable up close, not really at normal viewing distance. Looks to me like chromatic aberration from the lens. Is this normal for this model? Finally, in 4k 24fps mode, there is a loud, annoying rattle. Maybe a fan, but I think its part of the pixel shifting mechanism...its quite loud. Maybe 2-3x louder than the fan, even on Normal lamp mode. The rattle does not occur in 30 or 60 fps modes..only in 4k/24. I really wanted to leave a 5-star review for this projector, since I decided to upgrade to this unit from the Optoma UHD50 that I was going to buy, but with the issues Im having, I just cant...I tried emailing BenQ tech support, but have not heard back from them in several weeks, and have tried calling their tech support phone number for several days now but cant get through, so not impressed with their customer service either at this point either... I havent decided whether Im keeping this projector or not yet. It has all of the features I want, and looks pretty amazing in SDR mode, so Im really hoping BenQ gets back to me soon and makes this right, so I can get the full benefit out of it. Maybe their Customer Service team monitors Amazon reviews more than they check their email or answer their phones...

This was the best economically priced 4k projector I have bought. The picture quality this projector lens puts out is simply impeccable and enjoyable to watch on a big screen. Plus I love that both hdmi ports are 2.2 hdmi quality

This projector benq 850i worked great until i added a soundbar to it. The projector only worked 2 times with the arc sound bar. When i tried to use it again today it struggled to recognize the soundbar and never worked. Additionally the image started having one half darker and the other brighter. You have to restart the projector to get it back to normal. These two flaws are a dealbreaker for me so i returned it.

I bought a house with a media room and state of the art JVC. Or so they say. After hours of troubleshooting, I decided to buy the BenQ. The only bad thing, the throw point was different from the JVC. Had to move the mount location on the ceiling. But, after it was all done, the colors and resolution are outstanding. I would like a little more brightness, but it will work. Had a lot of folks over the other night and watched Mulan. It was outstanding !!
