Major set back is 3D. Yes it supports 3D but if you have ripped all your blue Ray to USB drive and have it in half SBS, you cant play it using media reader as the aspect ratio cannot be adjusted. If you have roku and use roku media reader, the projector wont detect 3D content and the button will be grayed out and no way to turn it on. If you try from remote - direct 3D, it will switch back to 2D and its a big no go. Benq cheap projectors allow you to use 3D manually but this one work. Have to return as its no go for me. Will look for laser projector at this price point.

Been a movie buff my entire life and this projector is everything I’ve ever wanted. Great picture quality.

Weve had this projector for about 4 months now and have to say - its fantastic. Im sure you could spend more money and get a better picture, more features, etc, but for the price, I think this is the best you can get. We have a room that is a light beige color and windows on the back wall - if we wanted to watch this during the day without shades on the windows, the image would be a little dim. That said, any other time, the image is incredibly sharp and the HDR makes everything look great. Weve got it at about 135 and it looks amazing - highly recommended!

The customer service is great - the unit was auto powering off with no notice or reason, and BenQ quickly issued a shipping label to return and replaced it quickly. Putting a lot of hours on it and working really well. Regarding the unit itself - Android integration is what sets this apart from others of similar quality. The ability to adjust the angle of the lens is nice for fine tuning. The picture quality is really impressive.

This is a great buy for the money. Its not the brightest projector, but in a truly dark room it cant be beat at this price point.

I own a BenQ projector that I bought 6-7 years back which still works great. Decided to upgrade to a 4K projector and chose this. The picture quality was Amazing. It was a natural progression from 1080P to 4K - till it lasted. As some have observed, the projector stopped working after a few movies. Except for the Green power light blinking and turning on, the projector is basically dead. No sound (of the fan), no light. Hope BenQ finds the issue and fixes it so future customers dont have to go through this...

This review is for the GP500 model. Wow, this is a tremendous projector. I dont think I can ever go back to watching moves on my normal sized TVs. The picture quality is outstanding. The clarity on a huge 125 screen is mind blowing. The color contrast is excellent, bright scenes will make you squint your eyes and the dark scenes are very cinematic looking. The projector still does well even with a little ambient light, but its fully glory is only seen in total darkness. The sound is excellent, surprisingly. I can postpone my need for a sound bar (for now). All the features such as auto focus, auto keystone, etc are very helpful, though not perfect. I found the auto-keystone not working great when the projector is at a long distance and off-center. When the projector is closer it seems to work well. The projector is relatively light and small, so its easy to move around and position. Overall, I am REALLY impressed. I hope this projector will last a long long time. Theres only 2 hdmi ports, which is fine enough, I will end up needing an hdmi switch to hook up more things to this projector though. This projector is also LED, so it should last quite a long time. I will update this review in the future if the projector does not hold up well.

I’m giving this a 1/5 until BenQ fixes the firmware issue that causes the projector to drop the source intermittently and at random. This is a known widespread issue.

Beautiful picture but very dim. Accurate color is clearly the focus here. Another great projector from the fine folks at BenQ. Nice 3D option and works well in a very dark room. Keep in mind that 3D makes the image even darker than normal when using shutter glasses. For you gamers out there looking at this....don’t! Look elsewhere. Honestly, the lag isn’t just noticeable, it is awful. Look into an actual gaming projector from Optoma or Epson. BenQ does have gaming projector options also.
