> 24 hourHuge, hot sparking and generally one of the best rods for fire-starting that you can buy.

> 24 hourthe striker is a bit lame. use a knife as a striker. . the rod itself is the right size and works very well when a proper striker is used. very much worth the money since this is something you can bet your life on IMO of course you need good tinder for any ferro rod.

> 24 hour…don’t speak volumes on why this country is in such disrepair I don’t know what does. To give a “1 star” review because YOU purchased a product that you admittedly don’t know how to use?! Nice accountability. *hint* there are approximately a million videos on how to use a ferro rod but if it still eludes you…just chip it up-add some para cord and tell stories to your buddies at REI how it literally saved you from a night of sure death on Appalachian trail as this product is nothing short of amazing. You don’t realize how negative reviews hurt small businesses so-apologize to the good people who made such a great product…take a midol…get yourself a lighter and let the men talk. Good day sir!

> 24 hourIts long, thin, and it sparks well! Should last a long time. The striking tool makes great sparks on the rod which ignites pretty much any kind of tinder.

> 24 hourI expected an impressive performance from the ferro rod. It performs better than I expected. The large diameter and longer length are easy to hold and use.

> 24 hourThe scraper is pure crap, throw it away. Use your knife and it works great. Personally, I love it and it works for me.

> 24 hourI brought this along to my sons Scouting event where all the patrols competed in fire-starting. This thing throws sparks like mad. After my son started a fire, each patrol proceeded to borrow it and use it for their own fire.
