Bought this to help my Boy Scout as he was learning how to start a fire. This is amazing!! It gives off great sparks and is easy to use!! The large size makes it easy to hold as well.

Bought this fire starter through Amazon to go in the sheath pouch of my new Ontario RD-6. I had to scrape the paint off the rod and then it worked beautifully! Nice heft and throws lots of sparks!

Quality product. Would buy again. But probably won’t have to.

Have not taken it into the outdoors yet, but cut some wood curls in the fire place and struck up a quick flame with minimal effort. Used both the striker and the back of my knife and both produce plenty of sparks. Shipped quick to boot.

This ferro rod is what it says it is, started 3 camp fires with it twice with the supplied striker within 10 strikes but the third fire it just wouldnt light after about 30 or so strikes. I just bought a new morakniv knife and one clean strike she was lit! Buy it enjoy it!

Awesome. Can light tinder from a standing position with this thing. Don’t look at the sparks though, they’ll blind you for a while afterwards.

Good sized, should last many years.
