I received my Massiv Fire Starter a couple weeks ago and have used it several times. First impression is that this thing really is massive. I’ve never owned such a large fire starter. I’ve used it about a half dozen times now and it has not let me down. I also have the Überleben Zünden that I absolutely love and led me to try this one. The guys and girls down at Modern Outdoor Life are well on their way to providing old school tools with modern flair. Oversized and super easy to strike. I keep this one in my glovebox and carry/ wear the ultralight Uberleben Leicht lanyard when out and about in the backcountry. Love these products

A lot of spark

This is a quality fire starter. Excellent manufacturing. The best version of a FERRO ROD that the world has to offer. No other model comes close.

Easy to handle and I have problems with my hands. I think its a good value.

Easy to hold which makes it easy to use. Throws a very hot spark and with its size it throws a lot of them.

This is the best 1/2 ferro rod measured against two other brands (less expensive) 1/2 X 6 best sellers on Amazon. Yeah, this one is double the cost of the other two and its 1 shorter than the other two, but it does come with a striker which is nice. However, THIS ONE BLASTS SPARKS far easier than the other two I tested it against, no matter which striker I used. Whether it was the back of my knife, a standard striker, or the Corona (blade sharpener) striker, the überleben Kräftig makes the best sparks with the least effort.
