This thing is a beast! The thickness and the length is awesome for getting good contact with the striker. Great to have with you especially in wet environments where you will need to throw multiple strikes to get a fire going with damp kindling. If youre concerned about the weight, have this around the yard and start the backyard fires with it. Throws big angry sparks, this definitely performs as looks like it should.

This is the best ferocerium rod out there. Its my go to out in the mountains. Its a little heavy at 6 oz. and it has an added bonus because it has a wood scraper and striker on the cord too. I highly recommend this product!
