> 3 dayGood quality. Easy to use (just have to get the knack of it and scrape off the outer coating) but not as pictured because I didnt pay attention and ordered the 5 instead of the 8 You would have to be under water to not be able to get the sparks off the 5 one but come on size matters :) I wish I noticed the size drop down on the order page. Also the 5 one is a perfect cylinder not tapered like the photo of the 8 one.

> 3 dayThere is a technique to using these, you cant just strike it once and have a fire, but its the best one Ive ever used.

> 3 daySuper nice ferro rod, however the multi tool to strike with is far too small for my big hands. Ended up using the back of my knife and had a fire within 3 strikes.

Greater than one weekI love this monster, it is perfect, the only thing that is missing is a pouch to store it, but is perfect like that, definitely recommend.

> 3 dayThing throws some wicked sparks and decent chinks of molten metal that sit there and smolder for a bit. Havent started a fire with it yet but it will obviously do so very well. Plan to make a hardwood handle for mine just to have something a little bigger to hang onto.

> 3 dayThis firestarter is ginormous in length and thickness. It would take a long long time to wear this puppy down, which is exactly why I like it. It is not too heavy or really bulky to keep in my survival pack. You will get a lot of hot strikes with this and it will stow away nicely. Honestly, what more could you ask for from a firestarter. My only critique is the outer coating gets on your hands, but hey, in an actual situation where you are using this thing, something tells me making a fire is a bit higher on the priority list than having black hands. I give it 5 stars and will buy this same one again after it gets used up in say, 30 years!
