> 3 dayI got this as a gift for my husband but we ended up sending it back because the handle mechanism gets so hot, even when not turned on. Sure it looks cool, but it’s not practical at all.

> 3 dayI will update if necessary but as of this review on 3/31/18 The TL:DR is that I love this umbrella and you should definitely buy it especially if you are a Star Wars fan. The build quality while could be improved, but it is great and seems like it wont be an issue. The plastic all-around seems sturdy enough that unless you WANT to smack it around like an actual lightsaber then you should be fine. There are 6 color modes it gives you basically every flavor you can want. I bought this for my GF and I will buy again for myself :) There a couple of quirks that I find odd like: 1) The flashlight is on the bottom of the handle. If it is raining you can only point it to the ground to help you see where you are walking... Maybe that is the point, because if it isnt then its pointless because if you have it its most likely already raining and so you wont tilt it to use it like a flashlight outdoors. Im not complaining as I wasnt expecting it, I merely find the positioning odd. 2) There is no locking mechanism like on almost every other umbrella once you fold it down/in to put it away, but with it rigidity it doesnt seem to be a problem. 3) What is exactly the point of the alternating light mode? Im not an engineer or electrician, but it seems like a waste of resources.

> 3 dayBought this for my girlfriend for her birthday. Yes, she is a huge Star Wars fan as well as general nerd. She. Loves. It! Score one for me! Only time will tell how durable and well crafted it is, but the lightsaber portion is bright and the umbrella part is smooth when deploying and retracting it. Highly recommend. Guess I gotta look at rings next...

> 3 dayIts ok. Its just a regular umbrella. The battery setup is cheap and hard to figure out. I wonder how long it will last. You have to line a specific part of the battery pack just right or it will not turn on. Pay special attention when putting in the batteries. The lights are barely visible, even on a dark day. Mostly, my gripe is with the lights. It looks like its really vibrant, but, its not, You can barely see the color of the light at all. The rest of the umbrella looks like any old regular black umbrella. Also, when you are actually holding the umbrella in the rain, the light stick portion of it is not visible from the outside. I wouldnt spend the money. Its a gadget. Not impressive at all.

> 3 dayMy son loves this. He is a huge star wars fan. Only problem is the light on the bottom does not stay off. We end up removing one of the batteries.

> 3 dayThe lighting is good, its even visible in daylight but moreso at night. I am a bit concerned as to the durability though, because there is no locking mechanism for the slider when the umbrella is opened... so its essentially held open by spring tension alone. Hasnt been a problem so far but I wouldnt recommend using it during, for a recent example, Tropical Storm Darby. Also shoutouts to the included umbrella cover with sling so that you can carry it across your back diagonally like a swordsman

Greater than one weekThe handle is very fragile and the led light comes on by itself.

Greater than one weekThis umbrella ROCKS! It was a gift for my husband. It dries quickly so he doesnt have to carry around a drilling umbrella. The saber aspect of it has the option to choose a color or even have them alternate. They all look really vivid and beautiful, especially at night. The flashlight on the bottom is really helpful at night when were walking our dog too. My husband gets tons of comments on this umbrella and I plan to buy more in the future. Really, its the coolest umbrella ever.

> 3 dayBought as a gift for my husband, who is a huge Star Wars fan, and am incredibly pleased! Exceeded my expectations, especially for the price - sleek design, elegant look (wasnt expecting that!), high quality/durable materials, and super easy to operate. Opening/closing this umbrella is the easiest, smoothest, and most secure of any umbrella Ive ever used...no latches, buttons, or gizmos to fanangle or hurt your fingers. The only issue I have is with the flashlights touch sensor. It is very sensitive and often turns on when you dont want it on and if you touch anywhere near it. A removable cap on the flashlight end would be great. Overall, fantastic product and gift!
