> 24 hourI am a pretty tech savvy guy, but it took me several hours over multiple days to figure out how to get these things to work. The instructions were unreadable, written in tiny font, AND were faded, like the printer was out of ink? I almost sent them back. Now that they are working, the WiFi range is very good, and they do have a high quality feel to them. Just be ready to consult YouTube videos (several) and spend some time figuring out what to do, its very confusing.

> 24 hourSetup is not as easy as an Apple product, but not too far off. My second of these, I have one controlling a UV-C purification light in my HVAC system & one controlling a stand-alone de-humidifier unit. Neither of these items need to run 24/7 to get their jobs done, so I have timed operational schedules Routines set up in the Google Home App for each to turn on & off @ different times during the day & night, according to my needs. These enable me to reduce my power consumption & extend the working life of the equipment. Once set up on my WiFi network, these have never failed to turn ON or OFF at scheduled times and as far as I know, have had zero connectivity issues, or need to reset (nearly 1 year on one, several weeks on the other). Would definitely buy again & recommend!

> 24 hourI really like this BroadLink Smart Plug and would definitely recommend it. The device is small and well designed. The setup was very easy and it works as expected. One feature I really like is the button on the device to power it on and off manually. This really comes in handy if your phone is not nearby.

> 24 hourI bought one of these smart plugs about six months ago specifically because this one advertised as not requiring an app, which was perfect because I already have other smart plugs from other cheap Amazon manufacturers and didnt want more crummy smart home apps on my phone. That original plug set up easily with wifi and has been working flawlessly ever since. Fast forward to now, when I bought a new lamp for a different room and wanted another no-app smart plug, so I reordered the exact same plug as before. This one showed up and despite being advertised as no app (again, the ONLY REASON I bought it) now requires an app to function. Ok?? Well that was obnoxious but I already had it in hand so I said whatever and downloaded their garbage app onto my phone and set it up. If that was it, I would have probably still been decently satisfied with this purchase, except that this stupid plug just... turns off, every once in a while, for a few seconds, for no reason?? Ill be sitting there, and the lamp will just turn off and Ill have to sit in the dark for about 10 seconds, and then turn back on again. It happens very frequently, probably about every half hour or so. I tried plugging the lamp directly into the wall and it didnt happen, so its 100% the plugs fault. To add insult to injury this plug also cant be found by my Google home device with frustrating regularity which results in me having to bend over and push the button on the plug manually to turn it off so I can go to bed, which is even less convenient than if I didnt have the plug at all. Anyway I have to assume that the seller recently changed manufacturers or something because this is simply not the same product as it was before. Be weary of the good reviews here because they are most likely for a different product than the one youre hoping to buy.

> 24 hourIt was a little complicated to set up but once I did it works fine. You must load the BroadLink app to schedule the plug. It works great with an echo dot.

> 24 hourI bought this three pack with a new echo dot. Echo was easy to install and set up. Pretty much did it itself. These smart plugs seemed easy but I wasted a whole day trying to set up following their included instructions and connecting via the broadlink network that appears in your WiFi when plug them in. Basically you go thru the steps telling the plug your 2.4 ghz network ssid to use and pw. Then you’re supposed to get a confirmation email from them and be good to go to set up in Alexa. FALSE. I tried a million times. Even turning off router access to 5 ghz. Googled for troubleshooting from other users and reviews. Watched many YT videos on it, even Broadlinks own official one. Finally called uncle and called Amazons “get expert help”. Not knocking her, the cs rep tried. Mainly making sure you’re using 2.4 ghz. Finally after 42 mins on phone she sends me link to send message to the seller directly. No kidding I worked in this from 8 am till like 4. Finally sent email to broad link. Woke up to a response next morning that asked if I tried downloading the broadlink app. What? Yes there was an app the broadlink WiFi link had me install and supposedly linked it to my Amazon acct which I’m not happy about. It’s called ihc. Seems fishy. I deleted it of course after it couldn’t connect to the plug. End of this long story. I downloaded the broadlink app and it recognized the plug and rest was easy. The plugs have been working for a day now so can’t comment on how reliable they are yet. I’m only using them to turn lights on and off for now so pretty basic. I’ll never buy from broadlink again and still may return these out of principle. Horrible of broadlink not to include proper instructions or admit their NoApp concept while great idea isn’t working apparently. Hope this saves someone else a lot of time!

> 24 hourThe good: I had no problem setting this up using a web browser on a Mac Mini. The bad: It works just often enough that I dont unplug it and store it away, but not often enough that Im surprised when it doesnt. I currently use it to turn on and off a light mounted behind my TV (which acts a bias light), but I typically issue the command to Alexa before I sit down, as I never know when I am going to get Sorry, <name of smart plug> is not responding. I would estimate it works 70-80% of the time. I have other brands of smart plugs and switch (TP-Link Kasa and Etekcity Voltson) and they very, very rarely have an issue. One of these is perhaps 1.5 feet from the Broadlink plug, but never seems to have a problem. Ive tried the usual technique of disabling and re-enabling the Broadlink skill for Alexa, and it seems to make no difference. The one time I checked the app, it wasnt working there either, although I cant verify that is always the case. UPDATE: Ive noticed when I check the app when the plug doesnt respond, the status of the plug in the app is out of sync (e.g, if the plug is on, the app shows it as off, and visa versa). Thus far this has been the case every time Ive checked the app when the plug wont respond to Alexa or Google Assistant. Also, the Broadlink app will install on a M1 (or M2) based Mac.

> 24 hourI have this hooked to my power strip, which supplies my aquarium appliances. I have attached my aquarium light to this exact timer. It works and turns on at the correct and exact time, like down to the seconds, but it is kind of troublesome to use. I have installed the app to use for functionality, and it is a bit overcomplicated in my opinion, like I just want it to turn on at a specific time and off at another time but it does not exactly allow this. It also does not turn off or function correctly in my opinion, as it is meant to turn off at 4:00, but was on at ~5:40 PM on two consecutive days after setting it up. Edit: I have decreased my rating of the product as it is hard to use with the NoAPP functionality. Perhaps I am setting it up wrong, but it never turns off correctly, which can get plain irritating. Perhaps there are better products, but for now, I appreciate the mechanical timers more.
