I have had this soldering iron and it kicks arse! Seriously though, its an exceptional soldering iron for an amateur who want something dependable.

Heats up wonderfully fast and the sponge/soldering wool combo works perfectly. The slots on the sponge allow for solder to pool into the tray without becoming stuck on its surface, increasing sponge longevity. The digital control system has a thick manual to describe the various presets you can use and the stock chisel tip is perfect for effectively all small through-hole components Ive thrown at it. Colors a bit goofy but its grown on me. I wouldnt recommend any other soldering iron south of a hot air station.

This handy little unit heats quickly and adjusts easily. Its a pretty good value for a consumer-grade item. Ive no complaints at all and I imagine Ill use this for many years.

I dont have to solder that much so I initially bought a cheap soldering gun. It wasnt bad but it didnt tell me the temp setting or when it had achieved temp. Fortunately, I lost it in a move so decided to replace it with this based on a recommendation in an article. I will never go cheap again! This heats up really quickly. The stock tip is perfect for 90% of jobs. I really cant see the reason I would ever buy one of the more expensive ones unless I was a professional.

A genuine Hakko product. One of the best soldering stations available. Should last a long time. Having a quality soldering station makes the job easier.

Nice Hakko but I prefer the dial up heat. Tried to send back and purchase the other model but it was an older model and the company does not have it

Just want to say I own one of these and its the best, I burnt trough a good 20 cheep irons before I found broke down and got this, and Im kicking myself for not doing it earlier. Simple wonderful.

This is a great soldering iron. It heats up fast and maintains consistant temperature.
