> 3 day5 star so far. Huge upgrade from my rat-shack iron. Joints are cleaner and the little brass solder sponge is all you need to keep the tip free of crud. Heats up and recovers fast, which means no cold solder joints and a better project. Cons: wish the base/holder was somehow able to be integrated and/or heavier, it moves around a bit. Not a big deal though.

> 3 dayThis handy little unit heats quickly and adjusts easily. Its a pretty good value for a consumer-grade item. Ive no complaints at all and I imagine Ill use this for many years.

> 3 dayI was super skeptical in buying a solder iron that cost this much but know I dont know why I didnt get one sooner. It heats up so fast and works SO much better than the cheap weller I had. It actually makes soldering EASY and fun. Use this soldering iron and some Kester 44 and you are golden. Dont delay and pick up one of these Hakkos today! The cutters that came with it work good too, better than I expected.

Greater than one weekIf you need a soldering station, BUY THIS ONE; its phenomenal. It heats fast, recovers faster. I will say the interface is not extremely intuitive, but still the best bang for buck soldering iron Ive ever owned. Threw my Weller in the trash after getting this one. It was so good, I bought two.

> 3 dayI love this thing! I use this mostly for RC related stuff and my solder joints never looked so good. I should have bought one a long time ago. It really makes soldering fun and easy compared to those cheap soldering irons.

> 3 dayLove this iron, but sad it died after only one year of daily use. Hakko offered to fix it for nearly the cost of a new one. No thanks! Too bad, because the pen is well-made and the iron maintained a really consistent temperature until about a year in. Then it simply would not go any hotter than 450 degrees from then on. I tried all the factory resets they recommended, to no avail.

> 3 dayNot only is amazingly built (like a tank) but it also offers a great set of features. Temp control is easy, the iron that comes with its the best quality money can buy and its pretty looking! (You cant say that about many solder stations). Just get a good case for it to preserve it in good conditions.

> 3 dayThis is a huge step up from the cheap soldering irons. I do a lot of soldering work, and if you do the same, then this product is well worth it. It makes a tremendous difference.
